HiQ Joins NATO’s Tech Ecosystem: What It Means for Defense Innovation

HiQ’s operations in Finland have officially been approved as a technology supplier to NATO — a significant milestone in the company’s strategic journey toward a stronger position in international defence, security and cybersecurity.

HiQ in Finland has been accepted into NATO’s official supplier registry. This approval opens new opportunities for HiQ on the international market. The company aims to become a leading provider of digital defence and cybersecurity solutions in the Nordic region.

The status as a technology supplier enables participation in upcoming procurements organized by NATO and its member states. The approval is based on a Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) with the NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCI Agency), and HiQ has also been approved as a supplier to the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA).

Strengthening its position as a developer of defence, security and cybersecurity solutions is a central strategic objective for HiQ, and inclusion in NATO’s supplier registry marks a major step forward. Beyond access to new markets, the approval reinforces the company’s long-term commitment to the defence sector across the Nordics and Europe.

HiQ already has a strong track record in defence and cybersecurity. Its client list includes leading defence and aerospace companies as well as government agencies such as the Finnish Defence Forces and key public-sector actors in Sweden. HiQ is also a member of the Finnish Digital Defence Ecosystem, a network that supports the company’s ambition to grow within the defence sector both in Finland and across Europe.

“HiQ brings strong capabilities in software development, cybersecurity and data-driven digital solutions into NATO’s ecosystem — essential components of modern defence technology. We will continue to deepen our expertise and expand our solutions in defence, security and cyber to meet future challenges. Our status as a NATO supplier is a natural next step in our long-term commitments in these areas,” says Peter Arrhenius, CEO of HiQ.
