Samsung B-Series HW-B550F 2.1-Channel Soundbar with Wireless Subwoofer (2025)
Product description
Includes the HW-B550F soundbar and a wireless subwoofer plus the necessary power cable for each component. The package delivers a true 2.1 configuration out of the box and supports optional rear speakers if you want a fuller surround layout.
Audio processing uses DTS Virtual:X to produce multi-directional spatial effects so sounds appear to move around the room without separate rear units. The soundbar also features a dedicated center channel and Voice Enhance mode to make dialogue sit forward in complex mixes.
Adaptive Sound analyzes the content you’re playing and adjusts EQ and staging automatically so voices, effects and low end are balanced per scene. There’s a Bass Boost option for when you want extra low-frequency impact during action or music playback.
Setup is intended to be straightforward: plug in the bar and subwoofer, and the wireless sub pairs automatically with the main unit. For those who want true rear-channel surround, compatible rear speakers can connect wirelessly to the soundbar; those rear modules link to each other by a wired connection.
This model requires a compatible 2025 soundbar environment for some advanced features and ships with power cables included. For the latest compatibility and support details, consult Samsung support resources.
Pros
- Included wireless sub delivers deep, room-filling bass
- Clear dialogue via center channel and Voice Enhance
- Simple wireless setup and adaptive sound modes
Cons
- Bass impact can be uneven in very large rooms
- Remote control layout and buttons are not ideal
- A few users report intermittent power/startup problems
VerdictThis 2.1 system brings notable bass and clearer dialogue to TV viewing and music, with user-friendly wireless sub pairing and automatic audio optimization for different content. It’s especially effective in smaller to medium rooms; expandability to true surround sound is possible with compatible rear speakers, though some users report occasional power or remote usability frustrations.

Power reliability issues — returning
Sound is superb when it runs, but it often fails to power up reliably. Repeated reset steps were required, so I’m returning it due to the unreliable startup.

Perfect for smaller rooms
Ideal for a bedroom or small living area — bass fills the space and it gets impressively loud. Sub pairs with the bar automatically, so setup was effortless.

Feels like a movie theater upgrade
A big step up from TV speakers. Center channel tightens dialogue and the wireless sub adds weight to explosions and music. Modes balance voice and effects well.

Good sound but limited smart integration
Sound pairs nicely with the TV, but it doesn’t integrate with SmartThings and linking to voice assistants can be cumbersome. Bluetooth works but isolates it from the ecosystem.

Speakers impress, remote could improve
Replaced an older unit and the audio is noticeably better. The slim bar looks good, but the remote’s narrow volume control is awkward to use.
