Audio
Portable TV Speaker & Sound Amplifier for Seniors — Dialogue Enhancer
Product description
What’s in the box: a compact rechargeable speaker, a powered transmitter/charging base, an optical cable, an AUX cable and the power cord. The system ships ready to connect to your television via HDMI ARC (if supported), optical TOSLINK, or a 3.5mm line output.
Construction and size: the speaker uses a durable ABS plastic housing with a soft-touch finish and a fabric-covered front grille. The base/charger combines matte plastic and a metal contact plate for secure docking. The speaker measures roughly 19 x 8 x 8 cm (7.5 x 3.1 x 3.1 in) and weighs about 500–600 g, making it light enough to carry from room to room by its built-in handle.
How it works: place the transmitter/base beside your TV and connect it with the included cable. The speaker sits on the base for automatic charging and communicates with the transmitter wirelessly for lag-free audio up to about 33 feet (10 meters) in open spaces. A front rotary dial provides ON/OFF and volume control—no menus or pairing steps. For private listening, plug wired headphones into the 3.5mm jack on the speaker.
Audio features and battery: onboard Voice Enhancement technology prioritizes human speech while reducing background noise. Choose between three EQ presets—Voice Enhance, Noise Reduction and General—to suit shows, news or movies. The rechargeable battery supports up to roughly 10 hours of continuous playback on a single charge. If needed, you can charge the speaker directly via a USB-C or the additional DC port at the rear of the unit.
Pros
- Significantly improves speech intelligibility
- Very easy plug-and-play setup with a docking charger
- Multiple inputs and private headphone listening
Cons
- Not designed for high-fidelity music playback
- Wireless range can be reduced by walls or furniture
- Single-speaker design limits stereo imaging
VerdictHandy for anyone who needs clearer TV speech without blasting the set, this portable sound amplifier delivers focused voice clarity, easy setup and flexible connections. It won’t replace a full hi-fi speaker for music lovers, but for its intended role—helping seniors and hearing-impaired viewers follow dialogue while other household members keep normal volume—it’s a solid, user-friendly option wit

Makes TV conversations clear again
Works exactly as described. As someone with hearing loss, I can follow shows with clarity similar to years ago without cranking the TV volume.

A big help for an elderly relative
Works well and was simple to set up. My 86-year-old mother-in-law uses it without trouble, placing the speaker next to her to hear TV speech clearly. It charges reliably in the cradle and has let her enjoy programs without bothering others with high TV volume.

Plug-and-play, surprisingly loud for size
Very easy to get running—plug it in and it’s ready. Dialogue is easier to hear than with the TV alone, and it gets fairly loud for its size. The headphone jack is handy for private listening, and the unit’s clean look fits neatly beside a TV.

Good concept but audio could be better
I like the idea and the flexibility — HDMI ARC, optical and AUX inputs, USB-C charging or a dock — and it’s portable enough to move around the house. However, the sound quality is disappointing for music and only passable for spoken word; if you want richer audio overall, this may fall short.

Does the job well
Impressive for dialogue: voices come through clearly so I don’t need to raise the volume high.

Great sound for speech and effortless setup
Setup was straightforward: I connected the base to my TV with the included optical cable, plugged in power, and turned the speaker knob — instant audio. The clarity and richness outperformed the TV’s internal speaker, so I kept the TV volume low. The speaker recharges on the base or by USB-C, and I now place it beside me in bed instead of wearing uncomfortable headphones. The 3.5mm jack works with earbuds, and you can even add a small Bluetooth relay adapter if you want wireless earbuds.

Stylish, feature-rich little amplifier
Agree with many of the product claims: it’s well styled, offers lots of connection options and the base doubles as a neat charging interface. The variety of inputs and the docking solution are especially useful for versatile placement around the home.
