Bose SoundLink Flex (2nd Gen) Portable Bluetooth Speaker
Product description
The SoundLink Flex (2nd Gen) is a compact, battery‑powered Bluetooth speaker built to bring full, high‑fidelity audio on the move. Designed to be small enough to hold comfortably in one hand, it also features a built‑in nylon sport utility loop so you can clip or hang it from a backpack, bike, or tent. The exterior is wrapped in a durable silicone material that cushions against drops and shields the speaker from impacts.
Engineered for outdoor use, the speaker carries an IP67 rating for dust and water protection and is built to resist rust and shocks. Because of its construction it will even float, so brief exposures to water—like a splash or accidental dunk—won’t ruin playback. The enclosure houses drivers and tuned passive radiators that produce a surprising amount of bass and a balanced mid/high presentation for music, podcasts, and voice content.
PositionIQ technology senses whether the speaker is standing, laying flat, or hanging and automatically adjusts the sound to suit that orientation, so it performs well from a tabletop, clipped to gear, or suspended in the shower. You can pair two compatible speakers wirelessly for Stereo Mode (left/right separation) or Party Mode to increase coverage and volume when needed.
Connectivity is provided by Bluetooth 5.3 for a more stable wireless link and multipoint pairing so the speaker can remain paired to more than one device. The speaker recharges via USB‑C. At typical listening levels the internal battery delivers up to 12 hours of play time; at maximum volume the run time can drop to around three hours.
Control and customization are straightforward: use the onboard buttons for play, pause, and shortcuts, or connect with the companion app to tweak the EQ, monitor battery status, and configure features where supported. The unit is built to be a versatile travel companion — small enough to stow in a bag, robust enough for outdoor trips, and tuned to deliver more bass than you’d expect from its size.
What you receive is the SoundLink Flex (2nd Gen) speaker with its integrated utility loop and USB‑C charging port; the silicone‑wrapped housing and IP67 construction are core material and design elements that define how it’s used and protected in everyday situations.

Great for low‑to‑mid volumes
I bought it mainly for quieter listening and it performed beyond expectations. At 40–50% volume it sounds full and punchy with clean vocals across genres. The app connected and updated without issue. Only complaint: packaging could be more protective during shipping.

Surprisingly robust and refined
I was amazed at how much volume and clarity come from this sleek speaker. The rubberized exterior feels tough yet polished. Setup with my phone was simple and the companion app adds useful features. A solid buy for the sound and build quality.

Reliable sound and easy daily use
Audio quality is excellent and the battery holds up through moving around the house. It reports remaining charge on startup, which is handy. Connections are quick and stable. Good customer support helped when a delivery mix‑up occurred—issue resolved quickly.

Longtime Bose user’s perspective
As a Bose fan I wanted a small speaker for my Chromebook and the Flex stayed connected while moving around. On battery it used about half charge in two hours at moderate volume. Highs and mids are excellent; the bass can sometimes sound a touch muddy. The official app doesn’t support every device.

Impressive sound from a rugged compact speaker
This little SoundLink Flex packs fuller sound than I expected. It handles outdoor use without feeling fragile. Bluetooth pairs quickly, battery life is solid, and the signature clear tone works for music and talk. A great portable option if you want true sound in a small package.

Big sound for city outings
Pairing via Bluetooth was effortless and I was surprised by how loud it gets for its size. The output sounded much larger than the speaker itself—clean and powerful enough for casual outdoor use.

Bodisatva 5/5
Built for rougher use and stable connection
This model feels designed to take knocks and water exposure—rubbery seal and solid construction. After trying several brands that dropped connection, this one stayed connected reliably through long sessions. Charging was straightforward and performance has been consistent.

My go‑to for indoor listening
I compared it to another popular compact speaker and preferred the Flex for its lower bass reach. The JBL had a punchier mid‑bass, but the Flex goes deeper, giving music a richer overall feel. It excels in small to medium rooms with clear vocals and natural instruments.

Powerful, personal, highly portable
This is my favorite compact Bluetooth speaker; I own multiple units in different colors. Spoken content shines, and most music sounds great too. Any perceived differences between units usually come down to how the speaker is held or placed. Longer battery life would be my main wishlist item.
