Check Point Software Exposes Critical Corporate Vulnerabilities

IT security company Check Point Software today released its Cloud Security Report 2025, highlighting serious shortcomings in corporate cybersecurity. Based on a global survey of more than 900 security executives and practitioners, the report exposes systemic vulnerabilities, including fragmented toolsets and an inability to defend against AI-driven attacks, leaving organizations exposed.

As hybrid and cloud solutions become more common, many organizations still rely on outdated security models that no longer suffice. According to the report, 65 percent of organizations experienced a cloud-related incident in the past year, up from 61 percent the previous year. Only 9 percent detected the incident within an hour, and a mere 6 percent were able to remediate it within that timeframe—allowing cybercriminals to remain undetected for extended periods.

By adopting a security strategy that prioritizes prevention, organizations can act proactively to close vulnerabilities and gaps in their defenses. The report advises companies to consolidate their security tools, implement AI-driven threat detection to identify and prevent threats in real time, and gain comprehensive visibility across their cloud environments.

“Security teams are chasing a moving target,” says Mats Ekdahl, security expert at Check Point Software. “As cloud environments grow more complex and AI-driven threats increase, organizations can no longer rely on fragmented tools and outdated practices. It is time to replace them with unified, intelligent, and automated defense systems built to handle today’s cyber landscape.”

Key takeaways from the report include:

  • Cloud adoption is outpacing security preparedness
  • Detection and remediation are too slow
  • AI is a priority—but defenses are not ready
  • Internal challenges are hindering progress
