French network operators Bouygues Telecom and Free (iliad Group) have joined the Aduna alliance to accelerate adoption of common network APIs and make advanced network capabilities accessible to developers and enterprises.
By joining Aduna alongside founding partner Orange, Bouygues Telecom and Free aim to unlock new digital innovation opportunities across industries in France and internationally. The alliance’s goal is to simplify developer access to aggregated CAMARA-based network APIs offered by major operators, enabling faster integration of network services into applications and enterprise workflows.
Anthony Bartolo, CEO of Aduna, said the platform will provide developers with streamlined access to network APIs from major French operators. He emphasized that easier access to advanced network capabilities will foster innovation and help enterprises accelerate digital transformation while strengthening their competitive position.
The initial API offerings — SIM Swap and KYC (Know Your Customer), both built on the CAMARA framework — are scheduled to launch in France in spring 2025, subject to final agreements with the operators. These APIs are designed to enhance security and simplify digital identity verification for businesses and service providers.
Aduna’s roadmap also includes additional capabilities such as location verification, network insights, and quality-of-service data. These features respond to growing enterprise demand for secure, data-driven solutions that improve fraud prevention, identity assurance, and service reliability.
Chrystel Abadie Truchet, Head of Strategy, Communication and Development at Bouygues Telecom, described the collaboration as a significant step toward unlocking cross-industry digital innovation. She noted that Bouygues Telecom is proud to partner with market leaders such as Free and Orange and believes the initiative has strong potential to drive digital transformation within France and beyond.
Rui Frazao, CTO at Free – iliad Group, said the partnership aligns with iliad Group’s strategy to democratize and accelerate adoption of 5G Standalone and network APIs by making these capabilities accessible to developers and service providers worldwide.
With these APIs launching in France through Aduna, the operators aim to position the country as a leader in the global API economy and pave the way for broader adoption across Europe and other regions.
Otilia Anton, Director of Orange LiveNet, highlighted how network APIs enable programmable networks that deliver personalized and secure customer experiences using connectivity data. She underlined Aduna’s role in simplifying global access to CAMARA APIs and said this first commercial exposure of Orange APIs on Aduna supports the value proposition of network APIs for identity and anti-fraud solutions.
Jean-Marc Racine, Chief Product Officer at Haivision, observed that Haivision has worked with communication service providers to show how network APIs can enhance broadcasters’ live contributions over cellular networks. He said the availability of unified CAMARA network APIs in the French market and beyond will be valuable for media and other industries that rely on robust, low-latency connectivity.
Events and industry engagement
Aduna’s collaboration with major operators reflects a broader industry push to create standardized, secure, and developer-friendly network APIs. As these APIs roll out, enterprises will be able to integrate network-driven services directly into their applications, improving identity verification, fraud prevention, location-based services, and operational insights.
The initial focus on SIM Swap and KYC demonstrates a practical starting point where network-sourced signals can significantly reduce fraud and streamline onboarding. Subsequent releases planned on the roadmap—such as location verification and quality-of-service data—will further expand use cases across finance, media, logistics, public services, and other sectors that benefit from reliable connectivity intelligence.
As the French operators and Aduna move toward commercial roll-out, enterprises and developers should prepare for new opportunities to leverage network APIs in secure, compliant, and scalable ways. Standardized access through a unified platform can speed development cycles, reduce integration complexity, and create a more consistent global developer experience.
