DXC Technology (NYSE: DXC), a leading enterprise technology and innovation partner, today announced that If Skadeförsäkring AB, the Nordic region’s largest non-life insurance company, has entered a partnership with DXC to leverage DXC OASIS to simplify, modernize and consolidate its technology environment following the acquisition of Topdanmark, a major Danish insurer.
When insurers integrate acquisitions and expand across multiple markets, their technology estates often become fragmented and complex, creating overlapping systems, operational silos and increased infrastructure complexity. This fragmentation makes it harder to deliver resilience, operational efficiency and consistent large-scale operations. The consequences include higher costs, slower integrations and reduced visibility into critical systems — all of which can hamper operational agility and the customer experience. Bridging this gap requires a technology partner capable of running business-critical systems at scale while consolidating and simplifying the underlying technology landscape that supports daily operations.
A more unified and resilient technology foundation
To advance its modernization agenda, If chose DXC to operate its business-critical technology environment. DXC OASIS will provide an intelligent orchestration layer across If’s operations in Finland, Sweden, Denmark and the Baltics. Under the multi-year agreement, DXC will modernize and operate thousands of the insurer’s compute resources across mainframe, data center and Microsoft Azure hybrid-cloud environments, forming the technical backbone of If’s daily insurance operations while strengthening governance, security and overall visibility.
“As part of our strategy, we are building a stronger, more secure and more scalable technology foundation across the Nordics and Baltics. Our partnership with DXC Technology enables us to simplify and modernize our infrastructure, consolidate our IT landscape and leverage automation and AI to improve quality and efficiency. Together we are creating a more resilient, future-proof platform that allows us to continue delivering stable, secure services and excellent experiences for our business and customers,” says Hanna Elomaa, Head of IT Operations, If Skadeförsäkring AB.
The agreement also supports If’s integration of Topdanmark by simplifying and coordinating technology operations across the combined organization, reducing operational complexity and improving resilience, efficiency and performance across the entire infrastructure environment. DXC will consolidate distributed mainframe and private cloud environments into its data centers in Denmark and implement hybrid cloud orchestration with Microsoft Azure.
Implementing DXC OASIS
DXC OASIS provides If with a unified orchestration layer designed to improve visibility, coordination and governance across the technology estate. By bringing infrastructure operations together across multiple providers and environments, DXC OASIS helps streamline operations, automate workflows and increase reliability across the organization. The platform’s agent-driven AI capabilities support a new operational model for If’s IT organization, enabling proactive monitoring and operational optimization that reduce manual work for IT teams while improving performance and resilience in critical systems and enhancing the overall customer experience.
“If is consolidating its operations across multiple markets and environments, and that requires a technology foundation that is resilient, unified and built to scale,” says Peter Skarendal, CEO of DXC Technology Sweden. “With DXC OASIS, we help If simplify and orchestrate its mainframe, data center and cloud environments across multiple providers as an integrated whole, improving visibility, reducing operational complexity and boosting performance across the organization. That creates a more agile and resilient foundation that lets If’s teams continue to focus on delivering seamless customer experiences while DXC manages the integration behind the scenes.”
