TrendAI and CleanDNS Partner to Proactively Remove Cybercriminal Infrastructure from the Internet

TrendAI and CleanDNS today announced a partnership designed to elevate the fight against cybercriminal infrastructure. Traditionally, blocking malicious domains and websites has been a core cyberdefense tactic. However, merely blocking domains does not address the root cause: the malicious infrastructure remains intact and can be reused in future attacks against other victims.

Combining agent-driven AI workflows with in-house machine learning models, TrendAI and CleanDNS can now detect malicious infrastructure linked to malware campaigns from numerous cybercriminal groups almost in real time.

The collaboration focuses squarely on threats at the start of the attack chain—the foundations of most major cyberattacks today—such as:

  • Infostealers, which harvest credentials and session tokens at scale
  • Phishing-as-a-Service (PhaaS), a turnkey offering available to a wide range of attackers
  • Loaders, which deliver secondary malicious payloads to compromised systems
  • Remote Access Trojans (RATs), which provide attackers with persistent, direct access to victims’ environments

“Blocking malicious domains and websites has always been a vital part of effective cyber defense,” says Martin Fribrock, Country Manager for Sweden, Finland and the Baltics at TrendAI. “Moving beyond blocking to proactively identifying and taking down malicious infrastructure is an important new milestone. In practical terms, this makes the internet a safer place—not just for TrendAI and CleanDNS customers, but for all users.”
