TXP Acquires Vigil to Strengthen Digital Transformation Services

TXP acquires Vigil to strengthen its digital transformation offerings in the United Kingdom. The acquisition is a strategic move that broadens TXP’s technical capabilities and reinforces the company’s position in cloud services, consultancy and modern systems development in the UK market.

TXP has acquired Vigil, an AWS Select Tier Services Partner, as part of its long-term strategy to grow and scale its digital transformation operations. The transaction is designed to bolster TXP’s consulting, development and resource offerings with additional specialist skills in cloud technology and advanced software engineering. The focus is on meeting the needs of a broad and diverse client base across both private and public sectors.

Vigil is recognized for its deep expertise in AWS-based cloud transformation, modern application development and technical advisory services. For several years the company has helped organizations migrate, modernize and optimize their systems in the cloud. These competencies complement TXP’s existing strengths and enable a more comprehensive service portfolio for digital development and cloud strategy.

Vigil’s technical team includes nearly 100 professionals, primarily located in Portugal and Brazil. Through this international delivery model, Vigil offers both nearshore and offshore capacity, allowing scalable and cost-effective solutions without compromising quality. Vigil’s client roster includes well-known organizations such as ITV, Trainline, Convex and DC Thomson Group.

With the acquisition, TXP gains additional global development capacity that enhances the company’s ability to deliver larger and more complex digital transformation programmes. The combination of a local presence in the UK and international development teams increases flexibility and competitive advantage in a market where demand for specialised cloud services continues to grow.

John Antunes, CEO of TXP, highlights that Vigil’s strong AWS capabilities complement TXP’s existing expertise in Microsoft-based platforms. Together this broadens the company’s technical offering and enables platform-agnostic solutions tailored to each client’s needs. According to Antunes, the acquisition strengthens TXP’s ability to deliver end-to-end digital transformation services, from strategy and architecture to implementation and managed operations.

Vigil’s leadership also regards the deal as an important milestone for the company’s continued growth. Phil Wright, CEO of Vigil, looks forward to integrating operations with TXP and Aliter. Management emphasises that both organisations share a strong focus on tailored solutions, innovation and long-term value creation. The partnership opens new opportunities to grow together and pursue larger international engagements.

The acquisition aligns with Aliter Capital’s broader strategy to expand its presence within digital transformation in the UK. Aliter is actively developing TXP through organic growth and strategic acquisitions that add new skills and capacity. Vigil marks the fourth milestone in the group’s expansion, following the acquisition of Metatech in May 2025, a firm specialised in legacy system modernisation.

Overall, the transaction represents a clear step forward for TXP in its ambition to become a leading digital transformation provider in the UK. By combining AWS specialist knowledge with existing platform and consultancy services, the company strengthens its position in a rapidly changing technical landscape where cloud, modern development practices and scalable delivery models are critical to future competitiveness.
