TIEFOSSI A5 Dotted Notebook — Heavyweight Dot-Grid Journal
Product description
Dot-grid layout: This A5 dotted journal uses a 5 x 5 dot grid with subtly toned, evenly spaced dots that give you wide freedom to design spreads, take notes, sketch, or build planners. The grid is unobtrusive yet consistent across pages.
Heavyweight paper: The notebook contains 192 numbered pages printed on 160 gsm paper. The thick, bright sheets provide a smooth writing surface and reduce ink transfer, making them suitable for gel pens, ballpoints, water-based markers and layered journaling techniques.
Faux-leather cover and dimensions: The cover is crafted from faux leather with a range of decorative patterns and a soft, pleasant hand-feel. Rounded corners help minimize wear. Overall size measures about 5.8 x 8.2 x 1 in (14.7 x 20.8 x 2.5 cm), a true A5 format for portability and desk use.
Extras for organization: Built-in conveniences include two ribbon bookmarks to mark multiple sections, a pen loop to keep a writing tool handy, an elastic band to secure the book closed, and a rear inner pocket for loose notes or stickers.
Gift-ready and support: The journal ships in a presentation box, making it suitable for gifts. Customer support promises a response within 12 hours for questions or issues, and the design is intended for everyday planning, bullet journaling, and creative use.
Pros
- Thick 160gsm paper minimizes bleed and feathering
- Generous 192 numbered pages with unobtrusive dot grid
- Functional extras: two ribbons, pen loop, elastic, inner pocket
Cons
- Alcohol markers and heavy ink layers can still bleed
- Occasional quality-control issues reported (stuck pages, loose loop)
- Not the cheapest option if on a tight budget
VerdictWell-made A5 dotted notebook with very thick, smooth 160gsm pages that resist most ink and water-based markers. Sturdy faux-leather cover, practical extras, and abundant numbered pages make it excellent for planners and creatives. Minor quality issues reported by a few buyers, but overall a strong value.

Very good quality
High quality. Highlighters don’t pass through, writing isn’t visible on the reverse, and the thick pages feel pleasant to work on.

Beautiful journal, durable paper
Lovely journal that I enjoyed using. Paper is very thick — fountain pens and Tombow markers didn’t bleed. Pages are numbered, two bookmarks included, and the dot grid is consistently neat. The only issue was the pen loop came loose after heavy use, which might be due to rough handling. I filled my book and ordered another from the same brand!

Design & functionality win
Beautiful cover and a sturdy hardcover design. Paper is thick enough that ballpoint writing doesn’t show through, and two ribbon markers are very useful for multiple projects.

Absolutely love it
If you're debating, go for it. Feels premium, well put together, and the paper is thick and bright. Dots are visible without being distracting. Pages are numbered — a nice touch. I used to buy higher-priced brands but this one matches or beats them in build and longevity.

Excellent performance
Really solid dot-grid journal. Two ribbon markers, loads of pages, and paper that resists TomBow for normal use; very reliable for daily writing.

Pretty but a few flaws
Lovely journal; paper weight is excellent and I appreciate the numbered pages and two ribbons. A few sheets were stuck together with what looked like glue; I managed to separate them but one page was slightly damaged. Cover holds up well.

Great for bullet journaling
Perfect for bullet journaling: the paper is substantial and water-based markers don’t show through. I haven’t used alcohol markers much but expect they might seep. The binding seems durable and there are plenty of pages to last a year.

Excellent for gel pens
Very sturdy dotted pages, nearly card-stock weight. Gel pens and most markers don’t bleed. Heavy-duty permanent markers and acrylics may pass through after repeated application. Ideal for DIY planners.

Holds up under normal mediums
This handles water-based markers, stickers, pens and heavy pencil without major show-through or buckling. Alcohol markers and heavy paint will require specially treated or heavier stock, but for typical journaling it's reliable.
