Thermal Blackout Curtains — 2 Grommet Panels, 40 x 84 in
Product description
Pair included: Each package contains two curtain panels. Each panel measures 40" wide by 84" long, so the pair provides 80" of total coverage. Every panel is finished with six anti-rust silver grommets with a 1.6" inner diameter to accommodate most standard curtain rods.
Light blocking performance: These drapes are designed to cut out a large portion of incoming light and UV. Darker hues can block as much as 95% of light, medium tones around 80%, and lighter shades roughly 60%. If maximum darkness is your goal, pick a deeper color for the strongest effect.
Materials and construction: Made from high-quality 225GSM polyester, the panels use a triple-layer weaving process. A central black yarn layer is sandwiched between face layers to enhance privacy and light control. Both sides of the fabric present the same color for a consistent, refined appearance.
Energy and comfort benefits: The thermal-insulating construction helps keep heat out during warm months and retains warmth in colder weather, which can reduce reliance on air conditioning and heating and potentially lower energy costs by up to about 15%. Suitable for bedrooms, living rooms, patios, villas and offices where temperature and light control matter.
Care instructions: These curtains are machine washable in cold water on a gentle cycle. Tumble dry or hang to dry; avoid bleaching. If needed, use a low-heat iron or steam to smooth wrinkles.
Pros
- High-performing triple-layer fabric for strong light reduction
- Thermally insulating — can lower heating/cooling needs
- Durable 225GSM polyester with matching color on both sides
Cons
- Lighter colors only reduce light by ~60%, not full blackout
- May need ironing or steaming to remove shipping wrinkles
- Grommet opening is 1.6" — fits most but not all specialty rods
VerdictThese curtains deliver solid light reduction, thermal benefits, and a polished look at an accessible value. The 225GSM triple-weave fabric with a black inner yarn layer gives a substantial feel and effective darkness in deeper tones, while medium and light shades still cut a lot of glare. They’re versatile for bedrooms, living spaces, and offices—easy to hang, machine washable, and helpful for red

Good material, not total blackout
Nice fabric — not 100% blackout but blocks most sunlight and heat effectively.

Nice curtains
Thick but not completely light-blocking. I liked them a lot and plan to get another set for my other room.

Handy fix for a broken shade
I used these panels under my regular curtains to cover a damaged shade. They do the job well and hid the broken section. I tossed them in the dryer to remove wrinkles and they softened up nicely. Not absolute blackout alone, but perfect layered.

Excellent light blocking and quality
Very pleased — the fabric feels substantial and mornings are noticeably darker. They help keep the room cooler and give the window a finished look. Dark gray matched my photos and the panels were simple to hang. Great coverage from the two panels.

Very good quality
High-quality material — doesn’t stop all light but is a very good product overall.

Heavy, elegant fabric — versatile
Fabric is thick and elegant; I even used it to reupholster dining chairs. It cut clean without fraying and stapled on perfectly. As blackout drapes they also do an excellent job.

Stunning royal blue — total room upgrade
The royal blue is exactly as expected and elevated my space when layered over white sheers. The fabric has a good weight, hems are neat, and the grommets glide easily on the rod. When closed they stop sunlight completely.

Best blackout curtains I've owned
No light gets through the closed panels — very effective. Easy to install, not overly heavy, and the color is spot on. After removing nearby trees we needed better sun control; these perform great. Will buy more.

Game changer for my east-facing bedroom
My bedroom used to fill with morning sun, and the room would overheat. These curtains made a huge difference — much darker and cooler now, so I sleep better. Navy was perfect and color options suit many decors.

Rich color and strong privacy
The maroon panels are beautiful and classy. They block sunlight well and provide the privacy I wanted. The material seems high-quality, hangs smoothly without looking heavy, and installation was easy. Looks even better in person.
