Samsung’s integrated software platform, One UI 8, is about to arrive and is now open for beta testing before it is rolled out to a broader range of Galaxy devices.
One UI is designed to help Galaxy devices handle everyday routines and boost productivity in a natural way. Thanks to close collaboration between Samsung and Google, One UI 8 will first be released for Samsung’s latest foldable smartphones this summer, then gradually rolled out to more Galaxy devices — allowing users to enjoy a more personalized mobile experience with the latest Android update.
Through open communication, Samsung and Google have shared design systems and real-time feedback, accelerating development and making One UI 8 one of the first UI platforms based on Android 16.
In addition to being among the first generation of upgrades launched alongside a new smartphone model, the One UI 8 release marks a new cadence for Samsung’s UX and AI updates. Registration for the beta program is open starting today, with the Galaxy S25, S25+ and S25 Ultra first in line in the United States, Germany, South Korea and the United Kingdom.
Personal AI for seamless, natural interactions

The official rollout of One UI 8 will enable AI experiences that simplify daily life, building on and expanding the AI features first introduced with the S25 series.
Three core elements make this possible: multimodal capabilities, a UX tailored to each device’s form factor, and proactive personalized suggestions. Intelligent multimodality creates a smoother, more natural AI experience by understanding what the user sees or is looking at in a given moment. A UX designed specifically for each Galaxy device’s unique form factor helps users stay productive and efficient. One UI also recognizes context and offers proactive suggestions based on individual habits and routines.
AI features such as the Now Bar and Now Brief will provide additional insights and suggestions that make everyday tasks easier.
One UI 8 delivers an intelligent, personalized AI experience while safeguarding user data. Samsung Knox Vault, with its dedicated processor and secure memory, isolates sensitive information from other user data so personal information cannot be accessed physically or remotely. One UI 8 also gives users the option to keep data processing entirely on-device; many Galaxy AI features can run both on-device and in the cloud. In short, One UI 8 offers a personal AI experience without compromising privacy.
Improved convenience for everyday life

One UI 8 also introduces useful tools that make daily routines simpler and more efficient.
The Reminder app will be a strong companion while on the go, letting users manage and share reminders in one clear view with a single tap. Voice control is also supported, making it easy to add reminders while moving.
Sharing memories with friends and family becomes easier with improved Quick Share. With a single tap on the Quick Share button in the Quick Settings panel, users can quickly send or receive files with minimal friction.
This marks the beginning of the future for Galaxy AI. Sign up through the Samsung Members app to be among the first to test the new features in One UI 8.
Availability of app-supported features may vary by country and model. Some widgets may require network connectivity and/or a Samsung account sign-in.
Now Brief requires a Samsung account sign-in. Service availability may vary by country, carrier, device model or apps. Some features may require network connectivity.
Quick Share requires both Bluetooth Low Energy and Wi‑Fi. The number of devices Quick Share can share with at once may vary depending on the Wi‑Fi hardware in the sending device. Actual speeds may vary based on device, network environment and user conditions.
