Salesforce Acquires Cimulate to Bolster AI-Driven Commerce and Agentforce Commerce

Salesforce has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Cimulate, a fast-growing company focused on AI-driven product discovery and agent-led commerce. The acquisition is a strategic move to strengthen Salesforce’s Agentforce Commerce offering and accelerate advancements in search, discovery and personalized shopping experiences for retailers.

As consumer expectations evolve, retailers are moving beyond traditional keyword-based search toward intent-driven and contextual discovery, where the customer’s purpose sits at the center of the experience. By integrating Cimulate’s technology into Agentforce Commerce, Salesforce aims to improve how customers find, explore and evaluate products in real time—driving faster conversions and more relevant shopping journeys.

Intent-aware AI for modern retail

Cimulate has built a context engine tailored specifically for retail and e-commerce. Its platform combines real and simulated customer journey data to form a deep understanding of shopper intent. The outcome is more accurate search results and personalized discovery flows that guide customers through every stage of the buying process.

When this capability is integrated with Agentforce Commerce, retailers can deliver search and discovery experiences that feel more natural and responsive—aligned with how customers actually browse, compare and purchase products.

The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of Salesforce’s fiscal year 2027 and remains subject to customary closing conditions.
