KINGLAKE 9" Stainless Hive Tool — Frame Lifter & Scraper
Product description
Constructed from 304 stainless steel, this hive tool measures nine inches overall. The shaft is finished with red paint on about half its length for easier handling and visibility in the toolkit.
The tool is intended for separating hive bodies and supers, prying and lifting frames, and removing built-up wax and propolis from frame ledges and hive walls. One end offers a bent scraper edge while the slim profile allows access into tight gaps.
Made from high-grade steel, the piece resists bending and stands up to regular use. It’s compact enough to carry in a tool bag or apron and versatile enough for light household or workshop tasks beyond the apiary.
Only the tool is included. No sheath or accessories are supplied; its slim, springy construction is what gives it strength and usefulness for both beekeeping chores and many general prying or scraping jobs.
Pros
- Durable 304 stainless construction
- Slim profile fits tight spaces
- Sharp scraper and effective frame lifter
Cons
- Red paint can mark light surfaces
- Not suitable for heavy demolition
- No protective sheath included
VerdictThis 9-inch KINGLAKE hive tool is a solid, no-nonsense choice for beekeepers and anyone needing a slim, strong pry-scraper. Made from 304 stainless steel with a half-red finish for grip visibility, it lifts frames, separates boxes, and scrapes propolis or wax with a sharp edge. It isn’t meant for heavy demolition, but for everyday hive work and many household projects it performs reliably and hold

Does exactly what it should — great as a spare
As beekeepers know, tools get misplaced. This KINGLAKE scraper fits well in the hand, is sturdy, and does its job dependably. Good value — I’ll likely buy a backup.

Very nice.

Very slim and effective
A thin crowbar that works on many jobs. A longtime contractor I know liked it enough to buy one. Beware the red paint can rub off on white surfaces.

Useful even without bees
Nice, practical tool. I don't keep bees but it has proven helpful for various projects around the house.

Handy for non-beekeepers too
Quality, heavy-duty feel — I’m not a beekeeper but it’s been invaluable in my daily work. Slim enough to reach tight spots yet strong after heavy use. A tool I now wonder how I managed without.

Excellent quality
If you need this type of tool, this is it. Well made and precise — not a flimsy imitation.

Very useful for woodworking too
I’m a hobby woodworker and found it excellent for prying CNC-cut parts off a substrate without scratching the work. A forum member who keeps bees tipped me off — the same shape, far cheaper than similar branded items.

Excellent
Bought because my partner couldn't find one locally; it’s necessary for his work and works well.

Always reach for this one first. Great for scraping paint, removing trim, and prying nails or small pieces of wood.

Handy tool to keep around
Well built and flexible in use. I used it to pry a baseboard off drywall without damage. Performed reliably — I’m sure I'll find more uses for it.

Versatile pocket tool
A top pick in my toolbox. Thin yet sturdy for removing baseboards and acting as a temporary shim. Not designed for prying heavy studs, but excellent for scraping and light leverage.

Saved my tiling project
I first heard about this while mid-tiling and wished I had one earlier. My partner grabbed it for future jobs and it was a lifesaver: it slips under trim, scores caulk, and its springy steel gives good leverage. We used it to lift trim, scrape linoleum backing, and chip away thinset in tight spots.

Edge does the job
I’ve kept bees for years and this is among the best hive tools I've owned. High-quality stainless with a clean finish and a sharp scraper that clears propolis easily.
