3-Layer Ventilated Beekeeping Jacket with Two Veils & Gloves
Product description
This beekeeping jacket is constructed from three layers of poly-cotton mesh fabric designed to create raised, intersecting air channels. The layered mesh lets breezes move through and helps sweat evaporate, while the raised fabric keeps the mesh away from skin for sting protection.
Included in the package are the jacket, two detachable beekeeper veils (a fencing-style veil with a rigid insert to hold mesh off the face and a 360° round veil for wide vision), and a pair of ventilated goatskin gloves with extended cuffs. Both veils attach and remove with Velcro-secured straps and the jacket’s head opening features a Velcro flap to conceal the front zipper for added security. The fencing veil opens at the front for quick access to a drink or snack without removing the whole hood.
Functional features include six deep pockets suitable for hive tools and supplies, elasticized waist, Velcro wrist closures with thumb loops to prevent cuffs from riding up, and heavy-duty YKK brass-style metal zippers on the front opening. The gloves have ventilated long cuffs to protect hands and forearms while allowing airflow.
The suit is made with durability in mind and is intended as a unisex design. Sizes are offered across typical adult ranges; if you wear layers underneath, ordering one size larger is recommended to ensure mobility and overlap at the hips. The jacket was developed with input from experienced beekeepers and aims to combine ventilation with dependable protection for field work.
Pros
- Excellent airflow from triple-layer mesh
- Comes with two veils and ventilated goatskin gloves
- Durable metal zippers and practical pocket layout
Cons
- Fencing veil geometry can press mesh toward the face
- Glove sizing can be inconsistent
- May feel warm in very hot conditions or if sized too large
VerdictThis ultra-ventilated beekeeping jacket balances breathability and protection with its three intersecting mesh layers that let air pass while keeping bees off the skin. It ships with two detachable veils and goatskin gloves, and uses sturdy metal zippers and thumb loops for reliable use. Accessories are useful but may vary in fit; consider ordering a larger size if you wear layers. Overall a durab

Comfortable, dependable, sting-free
I’ve owned this suit for years and still love it. It keeps me cool and I haven’t been stung while wearing it. Would recommend.

Well made and very breathable
This jacket is solidly built and breathes well. In 90° weather with a wicking base layer I stayed comfortable for long inspections. The gloves fit well and offer grip. Buy a larger size so it overlaps your hips for a secure fit. Highly recommended.

Great ventilation and secure protection
Ventilation is essential in summer and this jacket delivers. Zipper areas have Velcro covers and sleeve ends seal tightly so bees can’t get in. Plenty of pockets. I’ve worked around angry bees while wearing this and stayed protected. Moves easily without binding—currently my favorite suit.

Good ventilation, but accessories fall short
The jacket ventilates well—Florida heat became more bearable with a breeze through the mesh. Construction is sound. However the fencing hood pushed the mesh into my face so I reverted to my old round hat; I haven’t tried the other factory hood much. Also received gloves that were far too small despite ordering a large. Nice ventilated jacket, but accessories need attention.

Solid jacket with two veil styles
Comes with two different hoods. I’m still learning how to swap them, but the one hood has a stiff insert that keeps the mesh off my face and is adjustable. The jacket is snug—order a size up. Construction feels sturdy, wrist Velcro and pockets work well. Gloves are nice but a bit roomy in the fingers so my partner wears them. The zippered face opening is handy for quick drinks. I prefer it to my old jacket; it kept me ventilated and sting-free even when a bee got trapped in a fold. I’d recommend it.

Reliable, but zipper replacement needed
Very good jacket overall, but I had to replace the main zipper after the first season.

Functional but too warm for me
Product is solid and functional, but it felt too hot for this season. I only used the round hood and found the medium too large and long for me. The jacket is still unused in the bag. Otherwise it seems like a good piece; I just need a smaller size.

My go-to bee jacket
I’ve tried many jackets and this one is the best for me. Thoughtful design from a beekeeper’s perspective: good protection, useful pockets, a front flap for quick snacks or drinks, and secure Velcro for the headpiece. It ventilates well yet keeps bees out. Came with an extra hat and gloves—would buy again.
