4-Frame Wooden Flow-Style Beehive Starter Kit with Observation Window
Product description
Four self-harvest flow frames are supplied so you can release honey by inserting and turning the included extraction key; liquid honey then runs from the honeycomb channels into your chosen container without opening the brood area. The hive is built from natural wood and finished by a high-temperature beeswax infusion process at 482°F for 30 minutes, which deeply saturates the timber and smooths interior surfaces to better protect the wood.
A clear observation window is integrated into the design to let you watch bee activity and brood development without lifting the lid, helping you monitor hive health and honey stores while keeping the colony calm. The kit ships with roof, screen board, flow-key entry lid, observation window panel, super, queen separator (excluder), brood box containing six brood frames, and the honey extraction key — providing the main components a beginner needs to get started.
Parts arrive with pre-cut dovetail tenons and pre-drilled holes so assembly is straightforward and typically completed in about ten minutes by someone with basic hand-tool skills. A packing precaution places the extraction key inside the hive separated by cardboard to avoid scratching during transit; carefully remove all packing material and inspect components before installation to ensure nothing was overlooked.
This compact flow-style hive is designed for easy access and low-disturbance honey collection. Because it is on the smaller side, users in colder climates should consider hive sizing and winter survival strategies before relying solely on this unit for year-round colony management.

Poor fit and missing pieces
Parts didn’t align, instructions were unclear, one board cracked and pieces were missing.

Not recommended — too tiny and parts problems
This kit is very small. Finding replacement frames is a challenge and frames here are separating. The key can jam in the mechanism and I couldn’t reach a seller contact. Considering upgrading to a larger hive for winter confidence.

Much smaller than expected
I felt misled by the photos — the actual unit is very compact and it didn’t include any tool for removing honey. Disappointed.

Sturdy build, a bit fiddly to assemble
Assembly required some patience, but overall the materials feel solid and match the listing.

Worried about winter survival in cold areas
I haven’t installed bees yet; arrived in fall. It’s compact — likely fine in warm regions but I'm doubtful it will sustain a Michigan winter with only six brood frames.

Nice look but missing part
Cute design, however one roof panel was absent from our shipment. No clear way to contact the manufacturer for a replacement.
