The drumhead is genuine unbleached goatskin. Because it is natural leather, the surface is not a bright white but offers robustness and a wide tonal palette. The head measures about 8.5 inches across, producing focused highs and a pleasant midrange.
The shell is carved from a single block of solid mahogany. Mahogany’s density and stiffness give the instrument durability and contribute to clear resonance from the internal cavity. The drum stands roughly 16 inches tall, making it easy to hold between the knees or sit on for casual playing.
Tuning is achieved with a tensile mountaineer-style rope system pre-wrapped around the drum. The ropes are tensioned to a middle setting—not too tight or loose—so the drum arrives with a classic, stable tone and requires minimal immediate adjustment.
A hand-painted ethnic pattern decorates the exterior, adding visual appeal. The compact dimensions and light weight make it suitable for students, small circle jams, travel, and decorative display as well as regular practice.

Perfect size for a young player
