Gerber Center-Drive 16-in-1 Multitool — Center-Axis Pliers & 3.25-inch Blade
Product description
Complete kit: The Center-Drive is marketed as a 16-in-1 solution and ships with a 12-piece bit set and a molded belt sheath. The bit set is standard 1/4" bits stored in a removable strip and the sheath keeps the tool within easy reach on your belt.
Center-axis driver: The standout feature is the center-axis screwdriver that sits on the main pivot. Because it aligns like a conventional screwdriver, you get improved torque and straighter driving motion for repetitive or demanding fastening tasks.
One-handed pliers: The needle-nose pliers deploy with a single thumb using a spring-assist and Gerber's X-channel rail design to keep the jaws stable. The tool also integrates wire cutters with replaceable blades.
Everyday tools: Along with the pliers and driver you'll find a 3.25-inch plain edge blade, bottle opener, nail puller, pry bar, awl, and additional common multitool functions. Many components are designed for field replacement to extend service life.
Heritage: Gerber has been producing knives and tools for decades; the Center-Drive reflects that experience with practical design choices aimed at professionals and serious hobbyists.

Top-tier build and completeness
Strong construction, comprehensive features and quality materials make this a standout tool. The cost is justified from the first time you handle it.

Fantastic tool and outstanding warranty support
After six years of daily use the screwdriver arm failed and Gerber replaced the whole tool under warranty. As a theater electrician I rely on quick access to a knife, pliers and driver — all of which this tool delivers one-handed on ladders and lifts. The included bits are a handy bonus and it has saved me from running for other tools countless times.

My go-to tool for three years
I've worn this in its sheath on my belt for three years and reach for it multiple times daily. The center-driver replaces my regular screwdriver most of the time and the 1/4" bit compatibility is very useful. I honestly notice when it's not with me.

Great if you rely on the screwdriver a lot
Build quality is good and the centerline driver with modular bits is a smart design. Blade and wire-cutter replacements are a plus. If you want a prestige brand or need scissors and tiny drivers, another model might be better, but for heavy screwdriver use this is hard to beat.

Built for real professional tasks
This is a heavy-duty multitool that handles medium-size jobs confidently. The centered driver lets you use actual, store-bought bits repeatedly without wrist strain. It accepts standard bits and comes with a clip to keep extras handy.

Very good — recommended
Very versatile and robust. The screwdriver is particularly well executed. Recommended for most users, though I still find some competitors a bit better after extended use.

Replaced my Leatherman Wave
I switched from the Wave after trying this. The one-hand opening and spring-assisted pliers are the biggest advantages. It was a bit stiff at first to open the pliers with one hand, but it loosened with use. Being able to pull it from the pouch and use it single-handed makes it worth it.

Two years of steady, professional use
As a tradesman who uses tools daily, this one has held up well over two years. I appreciate opening the knife one-handed and the centered driver. The flip-out pliers are handy. It’s not quite as blocky or rigid as some premium competitors, but the convenience outweighs that for my workflow.

Solid, reliable multitool for everyday carry
I bought this after losing my previous multitool and it exceeded expectations. It’s sturdy, includes the accessories I use, and the build quality is high. I keep it with me constantly and recommend it.

Built to get real work done
This was my first Gerber and it impresses. Some report wire-cutter failures on very hard rods and it lacks scissors and a saw, but it shines with one-handed tool access, spring-loaded pliers, a large blade and a long-reaching center driver. Good for people who use tools frequently.

Best multitool for using real drill bits and one-handed blade
The supplied bit strip holds full-size 1/4" bits you can also use in a drill. The strip fits in the case next to the tool. Both the blade and driver are accessible without opening the handles, so you can flip them out one-handed like a pocket knife — much more convenient than two-handed designs.

Covers multiple roles well, with one caveat
Pliers are strong and easy to access one-handed, and the knife is full-sized enough to replace my pocket blade. The driver works like a normal screwdriver and accepts standard 1/4" bits. I did snap a replaceable wire-cutter blade on hard steel wire, so avoid cutting very tough wire.
