Continental Race 28 Road Inner Tubes 700x20-25c — 42mm Presta, 4-Pack
Product description
Fit range and sizing: These tubes cover 700x20C through 700x25C road tires. In ETRTO terms that’s 20-622 up to 25-630, so they also accommodate 25-630 tires mounted on 630 mm rims.
Valve length: Each tube is fitted with a 42 mm Sclaverand (Presta) valve. Measure your rim depth before fitting—wheels with deep-section rims may require a longer stem for easy inflation.
Pack contents and weight: The pack contains four Continental Race 28 inner tubes. Per Continental’s specifications, each tube weighs in the vicinity of 100 grams, providing a balance of durability and low mass suitable for everyday riding.
Product variant and care: This listing is for the Race 28 standard version (article 0181781). Continental’s Light and Supersonic variants use thinner materials and typically need more frequent pump-ups and careful handling.
Material and construction: Manufactured from classic butyl rubber, these inner tubes are seamless and mold-cured by vulcanization to promote uniform roundness. Each tube undergoes full inspection to help ensure consistent quality and dependable performance.
Usage guidance: Fit and inflate to the pressure range shown on your tire sidewall. These tubes are intended for regular road use and make convenient spares for training and commuting wheels.
Pros
- Durable butyl construction
- Seamless, vulcanized for even roundness
- Four tubes per pack — good for spares
Cons
- 42 mm valve may be short for deep rims
- Heavier than ultralight race tubes
- Standard version needs occasional top-ups versus lighter types
VerdictReliable, all-purpose road tubes: the Race 28 standard model offers durable butyl construction, seam-free molding and full inspection for consistent fit and ride. They’re a practical choice for everyday training and as spares—just confirm the 42 mm Presta valve suits your rim depth and expect the regular Race 28 to need less topping up than ultra-light variants.

Mostly great
Happy with performance. A couple split at the seam but leaked slowly enough I wasn’t stranded. Generally a good value and compatible with my Gatorskins.

Spare that fits and works
Bought as a backup for my road bike. Easy to install and has worked without fuss. Valve wear shows after long use, which is expected.

Does the job
They look authentic and function fine. The valve was a bit long for my rim. I did puncture one installing it with a lever—my mistake—but they’ve held up in normal use since.

Valve failures left me stranded
I carried two of these as spares. After fitting the first, the valve unscrewed when I removed the pump and I couldn’t get it to seal. The second almost did the same but I managed to reassemble it before it lost air. I’ve been cycling for decades and never had valves come apart like this—very worrying.

Dependable Continental performance
I switched from another brand to Continental tyres and tubes for my urban rides and flats stopped happening. These mid-weight tubes perform well and retain air for days. Note the weight is higher than ultralight TPU options, and be sure to pick a valve length that clears your rim.

Back to trusted brands
Fast delivery and a familiar name gave me confidence. I once tried an unknown maker and received a defective tube; returning to Continental avoided that risk.
