BT Unveils SD‑WAN Service Secured by Fortinet

BT has announced a new all-in-one networking and security service that enables business and public sector customers to manage connectivity across multiple sites from a single, fully managed platform.

The service integrates SD-WAN, SD-Branch, and advanced security capabilities into one managed offering. Operated by BT’s expert team, it aims to reduce cyber risk while supporting customers as they move applications and data to the cloud. The solution is specifically designed to help retailers and other multi-site organisations meet customer demand reliably and securely.

Ashish Gupta, Managing Director of Corporate and Public Sector at BT, said:

“At BT, we believe complex network requirements shouldn’t force compromises on security or flexibility. Our new collaboration with Fortinet on software-defined Branch networks demonstrates that you can combine both—delivering reliable, secure connectivity across multiple sites that is safely managed by BT. We’re already seeing strong customer interest, with a number of contracts won and being deployed.

Fortinet continues to be a key cybersecurity partner, providing secure, flexible and highly reliable services that help our customers deliver excellent outcomes.”

BT’s strengthened partnership with cybersecurity company Fortinet will reinforce wide-area networks and in-building connectivity, increasing resilience as organisations continue shifting to Software-as-a-Service cloud applications.

Paul Anderson, Vice President for UK & Ireland at Fortinet, added:

“We’ve worked with BT for over a decade. As an Expert-level Fortinet partner, we’re pleased BT is delivering solutions that combine our award-winning integrated branch technology with their award-winning managed network and security services.

In a post-pandemic environment marked by pressures on workforces, budgets and an increasingly complex threat landscape, organisations need partners that help them evolve securely and address rapidly changing business challenges. By choosing BT and Fortinet, customers can be confident they’re in capable hands.”

The technology helps UK organisations of all sizes improve the performance of critical business applications such as Microsoft Teams, SAP and Salesforce. It preserves a high-quality user experience across multiple sites while delivering the flexibility and cost advantages of a hybrid network.

Customers can connect a mix of physical and virtual devices to their networks, extending connectivity closer to the applications and data that matter most to their operations.

According to the UK government’s latest Cyber Security Breaches Survey, 32 percent of businesses reported experiencing a cyberattack in the previous 12 months. As more organisations adopt digital working practices, the new managed secure networking service is designed to address large-scale, complex networking needs and allow BT to manage networks on a customer’s behalf around the clock. The offering includes reporting dashboards that give security teams comprehensive visibility into network activity.

BT’s launch of this all-in-one networking and security service represents a significant step for businesses and public sector organisations in the UK. It provides a managed, secure and reliable way to oversee multi-site connectivity while simplifying cloud adoption and strengthening cyber resilience.
