Induo expands its range with flexible IoT solutions and now offers additional ready-to-deploy IoT packages to simplify everyday operations for businesses and organizations. With support for a wide variety of wireless and wired sensors and a smart gateway, local IoT networks gain new capabilities and improved sensor interoperability.
Swedish innovation elevates IoT capabilities
At the heart of many of Induo’s IoT offerings is the Swedish-designed and manufactured AKKR8 IoT sensor/gateway. By adding support for more wired and wireless sensors, this gateway increases flexibility and extends use cases. Recent additions include industrial sensors for measuring temperature, detecting objects, and sensing motion. These complement existing sensors for measuring water temperature, detecting leaks, counting flushes in pipes, and performing advanced air quality measurements. Customers can now combine a broad selection of sensors within the same system.

“Many IoT solutions are built to solve one specific problem or to monitor a single area. Organizations that want broader coverage often end up buying another gateway or a new end-to-end system. That approach is neither sustainable nor flexible and creates vendor lock-in, where data cannot be combined,” says Ulf Seijmer, Chief Innovation Officer at Induo and co-owner of AKKR8, the developer of the gateway solution.
By combining multiple sensors, businesses can address several needs with one integrated system. Retrofitting facilities with IoT brings fresh insights and enables actionable change. Examples of practical applications include:
Manufacturing companies
Small manufacturers face many operational challenges: Where are assets located? What is the air quality in production areas? Is the water pump functioning correctly, and is there a risk of water freezing in technical installations? Installing gateways both outdoors and indoors enables monitoring of everything from pallet locations to water leaks and air quality, helping to reduce downtime and improve safety.
Home care for elderly and vulnerable people
When elderly or sick individuals live independently at home, sensors can provide valuable insights and early warnings. Did the person get out of bed? Is the room temperature within a safe range? Is a tap running? Anomalies trigger immediate alerts so caregivers can respond promptly, improving safety and care quality while preserving independence.
Building heating systems
Many older buildings rely on outdated monitoring systems, which makes it hard to manage heating effectively. What are the temperatures on supply and return pipes? Are there leaks? Is hot water temperature optimal? Wireless sensors allow rapid installation and deliver real-time data without having to integrate old systems with new, disruptive infrastructure.
Work environment and indoor air quality
Maintaining the right balance between ventilation and a healthy work environment is essential. IoT sensors can continuously monitor air quality and temperature and track cleaning activities. “During trials with Sankt Kors we discovered spikes in TVOC levels at certain times. The customer realized that a stronger cleaning agent had been used incorrectly. Thanks to the IoT sensors they could correct the practice immediately, improving both workplace conditions and environmental impact,” says Ulf Seijmer.
With AKKR8 and its wide sensor support, Induo delivers a solution that unlocks new IoT applications across multiple industries. These offerings are designed to give companies and organizations actionable insight and operational flexibility—without complex installations or excessive vendor lock-in.
