Cloud specialist Pax8 continues to expand across Europe and has strengthened its presence in Switzerland. The company recently opened its first Swiss office in Zürich’s prominent tech hub, The Circle, and has recruited two experienced sales specialists — Cyril Schmid and Gilles Herweijer — to join its team.
As a leading cloud marketplace provider, Pax8 has focused on growing its footprint in the DACH region (Germany, Austria and Switzerland) in recent years. The latest move demonstrates a strategic commitment to the Swiss market, which Pax8 regards as both unique and high quality.
“The Swiss market is unique and important — built on trust, service orientation and a strong focus on quality. With Cyril and Gilles we have added two people who embody exactly that,” says Thorsten Oevel, Sales Director for DACH at Pax8. “They bring not only the necessary experience, but also the right feel for the market.”
Two strong profiles join the sales team
Cyril Schmid, a well-known figure in the Swiss IT sector, has many years of experience in IT infrastructure, cloud services and channel sales. He has previously worked for global companies such as Avaya, Acronis and Kiteworks, giving him a broad understanding of both technology and business relationships.
Gilles Herweijer, originally from the Netherlands, brings extensive expertise in marketing, sales and cloud market analysis. His earlier roles at Oracle and Zendesk have provided deep insights into building successful partner relationships and developing markets.
New office in Zürich’s tech hub The Circle
Pax8’s investment in Switzerland also includes a new office in The Circle, a dynamic business center at Zürich Airport. Located alongside long-standing partners such as Microsoft, the office offers an inspiring environment for innovation and collaboration.
Through this establishment, Pax8 aims to engage more actively with Swiss managed service providers (MSPs) and offer local businesses improved support and access to its comprehensive ecosystem of cloud services.
“This is just the beginning. We look forward to building long-term relationships and helping our partners in Switzerland grow through our solutions,” Oevel concludes.
