5.5" x 5.5" Cold-Press Watercolor Journal — 24 Cotton Sheets
Product description
Genuine 100% cotton paper—This journal contains heavyweight cold-press sheets made entirely from cotton fibers (no blends), at a 300gsm / 140lb weight. The surface provides toothy texture and strong absorbency so washes remain vivid while reducing buckling; archival sizing helps prevent yellowing over time.
Lay-flat, removable pages—The binding opens to lie flat across the spread, providing a continuous work area. Each of the 24 sheets is micro-perforated so you can remove completed pieces cleanly without tearing surrounding pages.
Durable hardcover and interior pocket—A rigid hardback cover wrapped in a linen-textured PU leather provides a solid painting surface on the go. An expandable pocket inside the back cover stores reference photos, loose sketches or finished pieces.
Multi-media capable—The cold-press surface is suited to watercolor, gouache, acrylic markers, ink washes, oil pastels and pencil work. It handles both wet layering and dry media applications, making it a versatile sketchbook for studio or travel use.
Compact, travel-ready size—At 5.5 by 5.5 inches the square format tucks into backpacks and bags for on-location sketching, urban drawing or vacation painting. Its professional materials and elegant finish also make it a thoughtful gift for artists at any level.

Perfect for Traveling Artists
I tried both watercolor and gouache on these pages with very good results. I liked them enough to keep two copies for daily use.

Good for Urban Sketching — Unexpected Perforations
Nice quality for sketching on the go. I bought it for city sketches and found the pages are single-sided (cold-pressed one face). I hadn’t noticed the micro-perforation listed and was surprised to find it, but it wasn’t a deal breaker. First washes showed vertical streaking where fiber orientation pulled the pigment, but I managed to move the paint and correct it. I love the compact cover and size—perfect for my upcoming trip. The paper takes a decent amount of water for small studies. Texture works well for pencil layout and then micron inking; I ended up using a .03 pen more than the .005.

Handy Small Watercolor Book
Ideal for small-format work at 5.5" square. The paper has a useful texture and absorbs well for watercolor and mixed media without obvious bleed during normal use. The tooth makes tight pen lines harder, so choose smoother stock if you need crisp ink. The pages open wide enough to work across two facing pages and the weight suits scrapbooking or small journals. Overall it feels worth the cost given the paper quality.

Lovely Hard Cover, Smaller Than Expected
The book has a nice rigid cover, a back pocket and a ribbon marker. It’s much smaller than I thought—compare it to an 8.5x11 sheet to check size. The paper is thick and pleasant for painting. A few pages had tiny black spots I’ll paint over. It doesn’t lie perfectly flat on both sides for me; one side stays higher and feels like it could strain the binding. The perforations are handy for removing work, but it’s also nice to keep pages bound as a collection. Overall a solid little journal.
