Sigma Technology Secures Framework Agreement with Swedish Prison Service for IT Consulting

Sigma Technology IT Group has signed a framework agreement with the Swedish National Board of Institutional Care (Statens institutionsstyrelse, SiS) to provide IT consulting services. The agreement came into force on 14 October 2024 and runs until 30 September 2026, with the option to extend year by year up to 30 September 2028.

The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care (SiS) is a government agency responsible for court-ordered, individually adapted care and for administering secure youth care. In collaboration with social services, SiS supports children, young people and clients with serious and extensive psychosocial problems, helping them toward a socially functional life free from substance abuse and crime. SiS’s IT and digitalisation department is responsible for both strategic and operational IT work and must provide a robust, secure and accessible IT environment for roughly 4,500 employees.

The purpose of the IT procurement is to meet SiS’s need for IT consulting services by strengthening the existing team with specialised expertise.

Sigma Technology IT Group is one of the selected suppliers that will deliver expertise in system development, integration, DevOps, system architecture, system design, as well as web production and accessibility, both in projects and within SiS’s line organisation.

“SiS today operates several existing systems that require ongoing maintenance and further development. The agency aims to make its technical systems and documentation as accessible as possible. With our experience and specialised skills in designing, developing and maintaining digital solutions that adhere to leading usability standards and architectures aligned with organisational and user requirements, we look forward to supporting SiS on their digitalisation journey,” says Anna Nyblin, Bid Manager at Sigma Technology IT Group.

“The framework agreement with SiS marks another milestone in our journey to become Sweden’s leading IT supplier to the public sector. We are proud to have earned the trust of the Swedish National Board of Institutional Care and look forward to supporting them with specialised expertise in system development, integration, system architecture and system design,” says Johan Edlund, CEO of Sigma Technology IT Group.
