With Galaxy AI, the Samsung Galaxy S25 series raises the bar for what an AI phone can do. Users now get a new multimodal AI experience that simplifies everyday life—at work, at school and during leisure time.
Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today introduces the Galaxy S25 Ultra, Galaxy S25+ and Galaxy S25. These phones set a new standard for mobile AI by delivering the most natural and context-aware smartphone experiences yet. The launch of multimodal AI agents is the first step in Samsung’s vision to change how people interact with their phones. Galaxy AI has also been upgraded with enhanced on-device AI processing. In addition, the lineup features next-generation photography capabilities with the ProVisual Engine and outstanding performance powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon® 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset.
“We are incredibly proud to introduce the new Galaxy S25 series. This lineup delivers a brand-new AI-driven operating experience that interacts more smoothly and intelligently across the connected ecosystem. That creates a better overall experience for users with our AI features. Our smartphones can now learn about people more deeply, and with integrated AI agents we can offer a significantly smoother and more useful mobile experience,” says Anders Elmby, Head of Mobile, Samsung Electronics Nordics.

The most intuitive and seamless mobile interaction to date
Running One UI 7, the Galaxy S25 series becomes a true AI companion that understands user needs and preferences to deliver a personalized AI experience. Together with Google, Samsung aims to make Android the world’s first AI-integrated operating system. Opening the platform further to developers and partners enables more inclusive ecosystems.
With built-in AI agents and multimodal capabilities, the Galaxy S25 series can interpret text, speech, images and video. Thanks to Google’s upgraded Circle to Search and AI Select, users can perform smart context-aware searches and get relevant suggestions for next steps. Circle to Search quickly recognizes phone numbers, email addresses and web links on screen so you can call, email or visit a site with a single tap.
This reduces the need to switch between apps just to share a GIF or save information. It’s also easier than ever to navigate the Galaxy S25 lineup: ask a simple question to find a specific photo in the Gallery app or change font size in Settings.
Pressing and holding the side key launches the Gemini AI assistant. From there you can perform actions across Samsung and Google apps as well as third-party apps like Spotify and WhatsApp. For example, you can ask the assistant to find your favorite team’s schedule and add it to the Samsung Calendar by voice.
Galaxy AI also receives new features. Call Transcript provides on-device AI transcription so users can quickly summarize calls. Writing Assist helps translate text found anywhere on the screen. Drawing Assist offers sketching help, allowing users to realize ideas using sketches, text or image prompts.

Highly personalized experiences with privacy protection
On the Galaxy S25, personal AI features are powered by the Personal Data Engine. It securely analyzes user data and reflects preferences and usage patterns to deliver the best possible experience. These insights are applied across apps—for example via Now Brief, which offers timely suggestions through the Now Bar even when the screen is locked. All personal data remains private and encryption keys are securely stored in Knox Vault.

Samsung Galaxy S25 also introduces post-quantum cryptography to protect personal data against potential quantum threats. One UI 7 includes an additional, strengthened on-device security layer designed for AI and hyperconnectivity. Auto Blocker has been upgraded and a new Maximum Restrictions setting provides stricter control. Theft Protection has been improved and a new Knox Matrix dashboard monitors the security status of devices and their connected ecosystem, allowing Samsung to deliver a comprehensive mobile security solution.
Samsung Galaxy’s best performance yet
The Galaxy S25 series is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon® 8 Elite for Galaxy. This is Samsung’s most powerful chipset to date and it’s optimized for Galaxy, offering up to 40 percent more NPU performance, 37 percent higher CPU performance and 30 percent better GPU performance compared with the previous generation. Many AI features can now be processed directly on-device, including Generative Edit for photo editing.
Samsung and Qualcomm Technologies worked closely to adapt the Snapdragon® 8 Elite, bringing advanced, efficient AI image processing via ProScaler. This technology delivers about 40 percent greater image accuracy while the Digital Natural Image engine (mDNIe) improves screen energy efficiency.
The new chipset also includes a 40 percent larger vapor chamber and a custom thermal interface material, resulting in roughly 20 percent improved thermal efficiency.
Camera and editing tools to boost creativity
The Galaxy S25 series’ camera captures ultra-detailed images at any distance. The new 50 MP wide-angle sensor delivers exceptional clarity and vivid color even in challenging light, and it captures four times more detail for close-up photography.
Editing low-light video is easier than ever. The Spatio-Temporal Filter, now built into Galaxy’s custom chipset, analyzes motion and timing in video clips to reduce noise more effectively. This filter enables the ProVisual Engine to distinguish moving and static subjects with greater accuracy, producing sharper images. 10-bit HDR recording provides a palette and contrast four times richer than 8-bit.
The Galaxy S25 introduces a range of tools that make advanced photo and video editing accessible to everyone. Audio Eraser makes it simple to remove unwanted sound from videos by isolating categories like voices, crowds, wind, music, nature and background noise so you can lower or mute specific elements.
The Galaxy S25 also offers DSLR-like depth with Virtual Aperture integrated into the Expert RAW camera app. Galaxy Log delivers more precise color grading options for users seeking professional video production workflows.
Portrait Studio has been enhanced to let users create personalized avatars with more lifelike facial expressions. New analog-style filters provide cinematic looks for photos and videos.

Durable, more rounded design
The Galaxy S25 Ultra is the thinnest, lightest and most durable Galaxy S Ultra ever. Compared with last year’s model, this year’s Ultra is 15 percent thinner and features a more rounded design for a better grip.
The Galaxy S25 Ultra uses durable titanium and the new Corning® Gorilla® Armor 2 glass. The glass contains ceramic for advanced drop protection and includes next-generation DX surface treatment for anti-reflective and scratch-resistant properties.
Both the Galaxy S25+ and Galaxy S25 incorporate recycled materials in their exteriors: their metal frames contain recycled armor-grade aluminum. For the first time, the Galaxy S25 series uses batteries made with recycled cobalt recovered from older Samsung Galaxy devices or from manufacturing scrap. Each device in the Galaxy S25 lineup includes a battery that contains at least 50 percent recycled cobalt.
The Galaxy S25 series comes with seven generations of OS upgrades and security updates, ensuring reliable, optimized performance over time.
All Galaxy S25 devices include six months of Gemini Advanced and 2 terabytes (TB) of cloud storage at no extra cost. Gemini Advanced includes Samsung’s most advanced AI models and priority access to features such as Gems—custom AI experts for any topic—and Deep Research, which acts like a personal AI research assistant.
Samsung Care+ provides comprehensive coverage for accidental damage, repairs and replacements. Samsung also introduces the New Galaxy Club, a subscription model for owning and upgrading Galaxy devices; more details will be announced later.
The Galaxy S25 series will be available to pre-order from 7 February 2025. The Galaxy S25 Ultra will be offered in Titanium Silverblue, Titanium Black, Titanium Whitesilver and Titanium Gray. The Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+ will be available in Silver Shadow, Navy, Icy Blue and Mint.
The Galaxy S25 Ultra has a recommended starting price of 17,990 SEK. The Galaxy S25+ has a recommended starting price of 14,490 SEK and the Galaxy S25 has a recommended starting price of 11,490 SEK.
