Orange Debuts Global LTE Signalling Service for Roaming Networks

Orange today launched a new LTE Signalling service designed to help mobile operators offer reliable 4G roaming to their customers and to strengthen Orange’s position in the wholesale market.

With nearly 20 years of experience in international wholesale services, Orange leverages that expertise to deliver end-to-end solutions. LTE Signalling is part of the company’s Multiservice IP eXchange (IPX) portfolio, which supports a range of interconnection and interoperability services for operators.

Orange’s IPX network features a broad global footprint with 30 Points of Presence (PoPs) and operations in 220 countries. The infrastructure includes some 450,000 km of optical fiber and is engineered to offer high security and performance, with a guaranteed packet-loss ratio below 0.05% and jitter under 5 ms.

The new LTE Signalling service is built on the Diameter signalling protocol and runs over Orange’s IPX platform to provide robust routing, interoperability and interworking between operators’ networks.

“Orange has developed LTE Signalling to enable operators to build a high-quality 4G roaming service that fully complies with GSMA guidelines. Our Open Connectivity approach and extensive peering agreements allow wholesale clients to benefit from broad coverage,” said Alexandre Pébereau, EVP International Carriers, Orange.

He added that “LTE Signalling is a key service that delivers differentiation and creates new revenue opportunities in a market that is evolving rapidly.”

LTE adoption is accelerating worldwide. Industry analysts have forecast substantial growth in LTE subscriptions over the coming years, reflecting the increasing demand for high-speed mobile data and seamless roaming services.

Orange is positioning itself to support this expansion by helping international operators make the transition to LTE roaming. The company contributes to GSMA standards and promotes Open Connectivity, while continuing to grow its LTE Signalling reach through direct connectivity and peering agreements with other operators.
