Mint Mobile Now Includes Free Roaming in Canada

Mint Mobile has launched free Canadian roaming for all customers. The new benefit, included on every Mint Mobile plan, provides unlimited talk and text plus 3GB of high-speed data per month while visiting Canada.

This enhancement follows Mint Mobile’s integration into the T-Mobile family and reflects ongoing efforts to improve the customer experience after the acquisition.

The Canadian roaming addition complements Mint Mobile’s existing perks, which already include free calling to Mexico, Canada, and the UK, and access to T-Mobile’s nationwide 5G network.

Aron North, Chief Marketing Officer at Mint Mobile, said the teams have been focused on delivering a better experience for Mint customers since joining forces with T-Mobile, and that free roaming in Canada is now available to everyone on every plan.

“Now, any Mint customer travelling to Canada this summer and beyond can call, text, and browse just like they’re at home,” North added.

The rollout is part of the broader benefits T-Mobile promised after acquiring Ka’ena Corporation, which brought Mint Mobile and Ultra Mobile under the Un-carrier umbrella. Other post-acquisition upgrades include the introduction of Scam Screener for Mint and Ultra customers to help flag potentially fraudulent calls.

Using the new Canadian roaming feature is simple: customers just cross the border into Canada and will receive an SMS confirming their coverage. There are no activation fees or roaming overage charges; the service is included in all plans.

Mint Mobile’s plans, which start at $15 per month, remain contract-free and transparent, with no hidden fees and the flexibility to cancel at any time. These consumer-friendly policies continue to differentiate Mint Mobile in a crowded mobile provider market.

Existing customers will see the free Canada roaming benefit automatically applied to their plans this month, timed with their regular monthly data reset.

With this change, Mint Mobile customers can travel across Canada—whether hiking in Banff or enjoying local cuisine in Montréal—without worrying about excessive roaming charges. The update strengthens Mint Mobile’s value proposition and demonstrates a tangible commitment to reducing costs for customers.

By removing common roaming fees for travel to Canada, Mint Mobile aims to appeal to frequent cross-border travelers, business professionals, and tourists who seek predictable mobile costs while abroad.
