Fujitsu has appointed Mats Brandt as the new Managing Director of Fujitsu Sweden, effective 1 October 2025. With a background as Sales Director and several decades of experience in the Swedish IT sector, Brandt will assume overall responsibility for guiding the company’s continued development in a rapidly changing market.
Leadership change at Fujitsu Sweden
The appointment signals a strategic shift for Fujitsu in Sweden. Mats Brandt succeeds Viktoria Granqvist, who has led the company since 2022 through a period marked by strong digital transformation, significant growth and increased investments across both the public and private sectors. Granqvist will leave the company on 1 November 2025 after a handover period to pursue new opportunities outside Fujitsu.
Brandt, who has been a key member of the leadership team for the past four years, takes the reins at a time when the Swedish IT market is rapidly evolving with growing emphasis on cloud services, cybersecurity, sustainability and AI-driven solutions.
Mats Brandt’s background
Mats Brandt brings extensive experience from the Swedish and Nordic IT sectors. He joined Fujitsu in 2021 as Sales Director and has played a pivotal role in building customer relationships, developing the sales organisation and improving profitability.
Prior to Fujitsu, Brandt held senior positions at international IT service firms and vendors, working on business strategy, sales team development and engagement with both enterprise clients and the public sector.
“I look forward to accelerating the strong momentum we have created over the past years. Fujitsu combines Japanese innovation with global reach, deep local expertise and a customer-centric approach. This positions us as a leading partner for organisations looking to transform their operations,” Brandt said in a comment on his appointment.

Fujitsu’s position in the Swedish market
Fujitsu is one of the largest global IT service companies and has operated in Sweden for decades. The company offers a broad range of services and solutions, including:
- Cloud and infrastructure — hybrid and multicloud solutions for businesses and the public sector.
- Digital workplace — modern solutions for productivity, collaboration and secure remote work.
- Cybersecurity — services that strengthen protection against an expanding threat landscape.
- AI and automation — intelligent systems that drive efficiency and innovation.
- Sustainable IT — investments in energy-efficient data centres and green digitalisation.
In recent years Fujitsu Sweden has grown notably, especially within the public sector, where the company has been an important partner to government agencies, regions and municipalities in their digitalisation efforts.
Challenges and opportunities
The Swedish IT market is in an intense phase of development, driven by several trends that will shape Fujitsu’s future:
- Cybersecurity — threats to businesses and critical infrastructure are increasing, creating a growing demand for robust security solutions.
- AI and automation — more organisations aim to leverage AI to boost productivity and innovation, presenting Fujitsu with an opportunity to position itself as a strong partner.
- Sustainability — Swedish companies and public organisations demand sustainable solutions; Fujitsu is investing in energy-efficient data centres and climate-friendly services.
- Skills and talent — the shortage of IT talent remains a sector-wide challenge. Brandt’s leadership will be crucial for attracting and retaining skilled professionals.
- Competition — the market is shaped by global players such as Microsoft, Google, AWS and Accenture as well as local specialists. Fujitsu must balance global scale with strong local presence.
The importance of leadership
By promoting from within, Fujitsu sends a clear signal to employees and customers. Brandt’s familiarity with the company’s culture, strategy and the dynamics of the Swedish market means he can rapidly continue the work Granqvist has led.
His emphasis on customer-focused leadership and sales-driven growth is likely to define the next phase of Fujitsu’s journey in Sweden.
“Mats has a unique combination of commercial drive and market insight. He has already demonstrated an ability to build strong teams and deliver results. We are confident he will lead Fujitsu Sweden into a new era of growth and innovation,” a Fujitsu Sweden spokesperson said.
The future for Fujitsu Sweden
With Mats Brandt as CEO, Fujitsu begins a new chapter in the Swedish market. Key focus areas will include:
- Deepening customer relationships — especially across the public sector and industry verticals.
- Investing in innovation — with emphasis on AI, cloud and cybersecurity capabilities.
- Continuing sustainability efforts — advancing green IT and reducing carbon footprint.
- Enhancing employee engagement — investing in training, diversity and a healthy work environment.
The appointment of Mats Brandt underlines Fujitsu’s intent to build on its strong position in Sweden and to remain a trusted partner for digitalisation, innovation and long-term growth.
