Handwoven Black Leather & Jute Runner Rug — 2'6" x 6' Runner Rug
Product description
ARTISANAL BRAIDED RUNNER — This runner measures 2'6" x 6' and is handwoven by skilled artisans into a braided, rectangular shape. It is sold as the single woven runner rug; no pad or additional accessories are included.
NATURAL MATERIALS — Constructed from premium natural jute blended with cotton and accented with leather strips, the runner showcases raw jute tones with darker leather banding for contrast. The fibers are low-pile and textured, providing a tactile surface that’s sturdy underfoot.
DESIGN & CONSTRUCTION — The rug features a traditional braided technique for a rustic, handmade appearance. The low-profile construction keeps it out of the way of doors while delivering a durable surface suited for busy rooms. Slight variations in color and tone are normal because the materials are naturally sourced.
WHERE TO USE — Ideal beside beds, along hallways, in entryways, and under narrow dining benches or kitchen counters. The runner adds a casual, coastal or farmhouse accent to interiors and pairs well with boho, rustic, and modern décor alike.
CARE & FEATURES — The rug is naturally anti-static and environmentally friendly due to its jute content. It requires minimal maintenance: spot clean as needed and vacuum carefully. The dense, weighted weave helps it stay in place, though some braided ridges may feel raised.
Pros
- Handwoven, artisanal braided construction
- Durable natural jute with leather accents
- Low-pile, eco-friendly and suited to high-traffic areas
Cons
- Braided ridges can feel raised and may catch toes
- Relatively heavy and not as soft as plush rugs
- Not ideal for households seeking very pet-friendly or machine-cleanable options
VerdictThis braided jute-and-leather runner delivers a handcrafted, textured look ideal for hallways, entryways and rooms that need an organic touch. It’s built to handle regular use and adds visual interest with contrasting stripes. Expect natural color variation, a firm low pile, and a robust weight — great for durability but less forgiving if you want a plush surface or easily moved rug. Keep in mind

Too thick and bulky
The rug is very thick and somewhat cumbersome. It doesn’t lie flat easily and feels bulky in tighter spaces.

Handcrafted rug with great character
The materials and braiding look and feel handmade — much nicer than expected. The black leather and natural fibers add a vintage, rustic charm without overwhelming the room. Size fits hallways and entries perfectly and the low profile is practical.

Great value leather-jute runner
Received the 2'6" x 4' version and it brings lovely rustic warmth. The braided weave feels solid and the runner sits nicely once placed. Practical for homes with kids and pets since it hides small marks and is easy to maintain.

Solid quality and timeless look
I love the leather and jute contrast. The black and brown stripes add interest and a premium feel. It complements farmhouse or contemporary styles and seems well made.

Lovely handmade runner
Really impressed with the craftsmanship. The black leather against natural jute creates a warm, refined look. It feels sturdy but has enough give to be comfortable for everyday use and lays flat without fuss. Works well in busy spots.

Color and construction concerns
Only the beige stripes are actual jute; the center reads dark blue rather than true black and the dye felt inky on skin. I also noticed odd markings in the weave and the raised stripes can trip. The idea is good but execution was lacking for me.

Falling apart quickly
Had it only a few days and the edges started to fray and come undone. Not durable enough for my needs.

Raised edge can be a trip
It looks cool, but the tan braided sections at the ends stick up, creating a real trip risk. Be careful where you place it.

Not recommended for homes with pets
I wouldn’t recommend this if you have a dog. For whatever reason my dog keeps urinating on it.

Nice runner but raised end strips
Arrived quickly and unrolled flat. My only gripe is the raised natural strips at each end — they make it a bit uncomfortable to walk on barefoot.

Not soft but attractive
Not soft at all, though it looks nice and seems sturdy. I had to layer a softer rug on top. The braiding is thicker at the ends so a wardrobe door wouldn’t open properly until I moved rugs around.

Uncomfortable and cumbersome
Disappointed — it’s heavy and hard to clean. Vacuum wheels struggle and it’s awkward to lift and shake. The surface is bumpy and not pleasant on bare feet.
