BAI Communications is rebranding as Boldyn Networks and will establish its global headquarters in London.
The company, a leading global neutral host provider, will continue to operate independently from BAI Australia while expanding its footprint across North America and Europe. Backed by the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, this strategic repositioning supports Boldyn Networks’ ambitious growth plans and reinforces its focus on large-scale connectivity projects.
Igor Leprince, Group CEO of Boldyn Networks, said:
“Establishing our headquarters in the UK marks the start of an exciting new journey as we begin operating as Boldyn Networks. Being based in one of the world’s leading economies will allow us to accelerate our growth plans and further boost opportunities for our customers and for highly skilled experts who want to be part of our ongoing global expansion.
We believe the neutral host model is the answer to building an interconnected future which supports operators, cities, and governments in deploying connectivity in the most efficient and sustainable way, creating a smarter, safer future.”
Boldyn Networks has already been an active contributor to the UK’s infrastructure development. Over the past two years the company has expanded its UK workforce tenfold, creating nearly 800 direct and indirect jobs and delivering major investments across the country.
The company has invested more than £1 billion in projects such as providing mobile connectivity to Hornsea Two, the world’s largest offshore wind farm, and deploying a 5G private network to support offshore wind development in the Humber region.
One of Boldyn Networks’ most notable initiatives is its partnership with Transport for London (TfL) to build a neutral host network across the London Underground. This rollout will deliver 4G and 5G connectivity to 137 stations, platforms and 400 kilometres of tunnels, while also supporting emergency services communications in the tube network.
Beyond the Underground, Boldyn Networks is leveraging TfL infrastructure to improve street-level mobile coverage and to implement smart city applications that enhance urban services and public safety.
The company is also working with Sunderland City Council to deliver an advanced 5G wireless infrastructure, positioning Sunderland as one of the UK’s most advanced smart cities. This collaboration includes public Wi‑Fi deployments, smart sensors to improve road safety and collaborative 5G-enabled projects with the University of Sunderland.
Rt Hon Kemi Badenoch, Secretary of State for the Department for Business and Trade, commented:
“Bringing international companies and multi-million-pound investment into the UK is one of my top priorities, and this announcement will help our plan to grow the UK economy and create jobs.
Having Boldyn Networks’ global HQ come to the UK is a great boost for our ambitions to support businesses across the UK with access to advanced high-speed connectivity and the wider economic benefits this brings.”
Globally, Boldyn Networks has secured multi-year agreements to deliver connected solutions for subway systems in major cities including New York, Hong Kong and San Francisco. The company is also deploying large-scale connectivity in public venues, expanding free outdoor public Wi‑Fi to help close the digital divide, and providing secure communications to military bases.
These investments align with the UK government’s wireless strategy to strengthen national digital infrastructure and accelerate 5G adoption. Industry forecasts suggest the UK private cellular networks market could grow to around £1 billion by 2030, and Boldyn Networks’ new headquarters and pipeline of projects are expected to contribute meaningfully to that growth.
Establishing its global HQ in the UK represents a significant milestone for Boldyn Networks and for the country’s wireless digital infrastructure. With a track record of global partnerships and large-scale deployments, the company is well positioned to continue delivering innovative connectivity solutions that support economic development and create smarter, safer, more sustainable urban environments.
