Altair and LTTS Launch 5G–6G Wireless Center of Excellence to Drive Telecom Innovation

Altair, a global leader in digital technology and R&D services, has announced the launch of a groundbreaking 5G-6G Wireless Center of Excellence (CoE).

Purpose of the CoE and its potential

The CoE will merge Altair’s leading design and simulation tools with LTTS’s domain expertise to fully leverage the capabilities of 5G and 6G networks. Its objective is to tackle challenges such as connectivity outages, high operational costs and slower innovation cycles across industries including telecommunications, automotive, manufacturing and healthcare.

Leadership perspective on the initiative

“5G and 6G technologies are transforming how industries operate, innovate and deliver value,” says Stephanie Buckner, Chief Operating Officer, Altair. “This CoE reflects our vision to help organizations across sectors harness the unmatched potential of wireless technologies. Together with LTTS, we are building the foundation for smarter, faster and more efficient solutions—no matter the industry.”

“The launch of this CoE marks a significant step in wireless innovation spanning multiple industries,” says Alind Saxena, Executive Director and President, Mobility and Tech, LTTS. “Our collaboration with Altair brings together advanced simulation technology and deep domain expertise, enabling diverse industries to unlock the full potential of 5G and 6G. This partnership is an important milestone in creating a more connected, intelligent and efficient world.”

Focus areas and use cases

The CoE will concentrate on initiatives designed to empower organizations with wireless solutions in areas such as:

  • 5G–6G network planning
  • 6G reconfigurable intelligent surfaces, and RF design and development
  • Enhancing wireless connectivity for smart factories, connected vehicles and remote healthcare monitoring
  • Digital twins for 5G and 6G networks
  • Connected mobility and predictive analytics for network faults

Technologies powering the CoE

These use cases will be supported by Altair® HyperWorks® and Altair® RapidMiner®. The CoE will provide hands-on training, workshops and collaborative engagements to help industries adopt and adapt wireless technologies to their specific challenges.

Recognition for innovative work

For its pioneering work in simulation, analytics and real-time data integration using digital twin technology, LTTS was honored with the Partner of the Year Award at the Altair Channel Partner Awards 2025.
