Aeris, a provider of cellular IoT solutions, and Bridge Alliance, a regional mobile operator collaboration, have launched Aeris IoT Watchtower in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. This agentless platform gives organizations a clear, consolidated view of how exposed their IoT devices are to cyber threats, enabling them to prioritize and remediate vulnerabilities before they are exploited.
Aeris already manages cellular IoT connectivity for Bridge Alliance Member Operators through its Aeris IoT Accelerator (IoTA) platform. Aeris IoT Watchtower is the company’s next step to address growing security concerns across connected deployments.
Enterprises face mounting pressure to secure a rapidly expanding population of cellular-connected devices, which have become attractive targets for attackers. Independent research has shown that many IoT devices are not properly accounted for in corporate asset inventories and are increasingly targeted in breaches. Existing IoT connectivity solutions often lack comprehensive control and end-to-end visibility, leaving organizations unable to identify and mitigate risks across their device fleets.
Industry analysts report significant growth in cellular IoT adoption. Berg Insight estimates roughly 1.1 billion cellular IoT devices are connected worldwide, with a projected compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of about 16% over the next two years. APAC already hosts around 170 million cellular IoT connections, and that figure is expected to rise substantially over the coming decade.
Aeris IoT Watchtower is already available in the United States and Europe. Through a partnership with Bridge Alliance, the solution will now be offered across APAC, where Aeris and Bridge Alliance aim to close the security gap in cellular IoT and IIoT deployments used by enterprises and public organizations.
The Watchtower platform comprises two core capabilities: Awareness and Enforcement. The Awareness component continuously inventories and assesses devices, surfacing security issues and reporting on risk posture with detailed device-level information. The Enforcement component enables organizations to take corrective actions within the cellular data path. Together, these features help organizations discover the full extent of deployed fleets, detect vulnerabilities quickly, streamline IoT operations, and support regulatory and compliance requirements.
Mark Cratsenburg, Chief Commercial Officer for Aeris’ IoT Business Unit, emphasizes that Aeris IoT Watchtower delivers “complete visibility into cellular IoT security risks and the ability to neutralize threats before they impact operations,” while integrating seamlessly with existing cellular data flows.
