Orange is enhancing its entertainment offerings with a new partnership that lets customers download a free film directly to their Apple iPhones.
Called Orange: Film to Go and launching on 11 August, this initiative builds on the success of Orange Wednesdays, the popular two-for-one cinema ticket promotion.
The program will be promoted through a multi-platform advertising campaign that showcases films being viewed “on the move” across a variety of devices, including laptops and mobile phones. To access the free film each week, customers can text Orange, visit the dedicated Facebook page, or use a mobile app to receive a unique code. That code can then be entered on Orange’s website to claim the film. New titles will be offered weekly; initial offerings include The Wrestler, The Ghost, and Che: Part One.
Terms for the service specify that films can only be downloaded on Thursdays. Once downloaded, a film must be watched within 30 days, and if playback is started, the movie must be finished within 48 hours of pressing play.
“We know Orange customers love film, so adding the Orange: Film to Go service to our existing portfolio of film offers is hugely exciting for us,” said Spencer McHugh, Brand Director at Orange UK.
“We’ve lined up some great titles for the launch and have more to announce, so we’re expecting many customers to take advantage of this offer,” he added.
