Temafon (Zed Group) Replaces Italy’s Buongiorno B!3A with Russia’s WINGS Platform

WINGS, a leading provider of value-added service (VAS) platforms, has successfully migrated Temafon’s services onto the WINGS platform. Temafon, VimpelCom’s (Beeline brand) mobile content aggregator and part of the ZED Group, manages and promotes Beeline’s mobile content projects. Previously, Temafon operated on the B!3A platform by Buongiorno, a global mobile ecosystem company now part of NTT DOCOMO.

The WINGS platform automates the workflows of aggregators, content owners and service providers, enabling the development and delivery of mobile services using SMS, IVR, USSD, WAP and MMS technologies. WINGS currently supports over 100 deployments across 25 countries. As the solution provider, WINGS brings extensive experience in operating carrier-grade systems and in migrating clients’ services from third-party platforms to its own environment.

The migration was completed without interrupting subscriber services. WINGS engineers integrated the platform with Temafon and Beeline systems, migrated multimedia assets, and tailored the platform to Temafon’s operational and business processes.

Primarily, Temafon uses the WINGS platform to store and manage a multimedia content database—working with right holders where required. The content repository holds more than 10,000 items across various types, including mobile applications. The platform offers tools for large-scale content management, configurable settlement workflows with rights holders, and a user-friendly web interface. Content is published to carrier-branded portals and Beeline storefronts for sale, and purchase and download statistics are imported back into the platform for analytics and reporting.

A popular WAP portal, zagruzi.beeline.ru, is also delivered through the WINGS platform. The portal gives Beeline subscribers a broad catalog of content with options to purchase and download directly from the site.

The final phase of the migration involved switching Temafon’s SMS traffic to WINGS. The platform now handles inbound SMS reception and routing, delivery of messages to external handlers over multiple protocols, outbound replies, and comprehensive reporting.
