Nutanix (NASDAQ: NTNX), a leader in hybrid multicloud services, today introduced Nutanix Agentic AI, a comprehensive software solution designed to accelerate enterprise adoption of agentic AI for business transformation.
As organizations move to agentic AI, enterprise deployments are reaching a tipping point: the challenge is no longer the model or building individual agents, but the complexity of operating infrastructure that must securely run thousands of agents at scale. Infrastructure and platform teams need better tools to build and operate AI factories and safely share resources while maximizing performance, security and compliance with sovereignty requirements. Data scientists and agentic AI developers also expect simple access to tools and services for running and fine-tuning models, assembling agents and securely connecting them to corporate data.
“Unlike AI infrastructure optimized for training a single large job, production agentic AI infrastructure must handle massive scale and rapid change across thousands of AI services, agents and concurrent users and developers. Nutanix Agentic AI extends our AHV hypervisor, Flow Virtual Networking, Nutanix Kubernetes Platform and Nutanix Enterprise AI to deliver a cloud-like operating model for enterprise AI factories, enabling infrastructure and platform teams to easily build, run and govern AI factories while giving agentic AI developers the performance and broad set of models and platform services they need,” said Thomas Cornely, Executive Vice President of Product Management at Nutanix.
The solution integrates with NVIDIA AI Enterprise at the Agent Builder layer and orchestrates the NVIDIA-certified AI factory ecosystem for supported configurations. It enables customers running dynamic, multi-user AI environments to build, run and secure agentic AI applications with a full set of infrastructure orchestration and security software alongside AI Platform Services (PaaS) and Models-as-a-Service (MaaS) for data scientists and agentic AI developers. Nutanix and NVIDIA are also collaborating to establish the foundation for autonomous agents in the enterprise through integration with the NVIDIA Agent Toolkit, including the NVIDIA OpenShell open-source runtime.
Optimizing performance, security and cost for AI apps and factories
Nutanix Agentic AI reduces operational complexity, delivers optimized performance and security, and is designed to enable lower, predictable token costs by providing the following capabilities:
1. Agentic AI services and a Kubernetes platform: This AI PaaS and Kubernetes-native software layer includes:
- An advanced AI gateway and Model-as-a-Service: The latest Nutanix Enterprise AI (NAI) 2.6 introduces an AI gateway service for unified policy control across cloud and private LLMs. New support for the Model Context Protocol (MCP) server and fine-tuning extends its MaaS capabilities, enabling agents to securely connect to enterprise tools and data sources. NAI also adds support for the NVIDIA Nemotron family of models, along with datasets and open-source training tools designed to help developers build agent-based AI systems that can reason, securely access tools and complete complex multi-step tasks autonomously.
- An open Kubernetes platform with an extensive AI catalog: Nutanix simplifies the path to agentic AI by expanding its CNCF-compatible Nutanix Kubernetes Platform with a comprehensive catalog of prebuilt open-source AI development tools, including notebooks, vector databases, MLOps workflow engines and agentic frameworks. Fully integrated with NVIDIA AI Enterprise software, developers can immediately deploy NVIDIA NIM microservices, including Nemotron, to accelerate the development of high-performance AI applications in production.
2. Infrastructure optimization and security: In early access to NVIDIA’s topology-aware AHV, the Nutanix AHV hypervisor has been enhanced to automatically optimize allocation of physical resources to virtual machines on GPU-dense servers to maximize performance. Nutanix Flow Virtual Networking has been improved to offload network dataplane processing to NVIDIA BlueField, delivering high-performance networking while reducing host CPU and memory consumption. These enhancements provide the isolation, day‑2 operations and infrastructure resilience of VMs for agentic AI workloads while maximizing performance, security and resource efficiency to help lower cost per token.
3. Fundamental data services for AI: Agentic AI applications require core data services. Built on an NVIDIA AI Data Platform reference design, Nutanix Unified Storage delivers linearly scalable read/write performance for thousands of GPU clients. With high-capacity KV cache offload and support for S3 over RDMA and NFS over RDMA, Nutanix provides a scalable, low-latency data layer that maximizes GPU efficiency across enterprise AI workloads.
Industry and partner perspectives

Analyst viewpoint
“The Nutanix Agentic AI stack removes much of the infrastructural friction that can slow enterprise AI projects. By bringing together layers—from Models-as-a-Service at the top, to an AI platform built on a standardized Kubernetes distribution, down to GPU-aware hypervisors and DPU-accelerated networking—organizations get a more cohesive AI stack that enables AI factories to deliver strong performance and security while lowering cost per token.”
Steve McDowell, Chief Analyst, NAND Research
