Advania Expands High-Performance Computing Capabilities with Gompute Acquisition

The acquisition strengthens Advania’s commitment to high-performance computing (HPC). Gompute’s powerful infrastructure brings significant compute capacity designed to maximize the value of AI initiatives and research that requires handling very large datasets. Customers will gain access to dedicated compute resources with full data sovereignty and transparent cost control.

Advania has acquired the atNorth-owned company Gompute, a specialist in high-performance computing—large-scale data processing used in advanced research, computer-aided simulations and AI training. Gompute’s HPC platform enables complex calculations on dedicated infrastructure without reliance on public cloud services.

With the acquisition, Gompute’s experienced teams in Sweden and Spain will join Advania Sweden. Existing customers will retain access to the high-performance infrastructure and technical support they rely on, while gaining the broader service portfolio, local presence across Northern Europe and Advania’s focus on secure and sustainable digitalization.

One of several strategic AI acquisitions by Advania

This acquisition is a key element of Advania’s ambition to become Northern Europe’s most comprehensive HPC and AI service provider. Previously, Advania acquired the award-winning Swedish AI company The AI Framework, which specializes in driving AI transformations across retail, telecom and finance. Those capabilities enable Advania to offer an end-to-end AI proposition—covering strategy, implementation, training, governance and subscription-based services.

“Both acquisitions are important pieces of our strategy to become Northern Europe’s most complete AI service provider. By combining our own infrastructure with expertise in strategy, security, implementation and sustainable data governance, we can now offer customers a complete and customized AI ecosystem that meets future needs,” says Tomas Wanselius, CEO of Advania Sweden.

Adding technical expertise and broadening capabilities

Gompute’s platform is designed to simplify daily work for engineers and researchers using HPC as a service. By providing scalable compute resources within private cloud environments, the platform supports fast, secure and efficient workflows.

As part of Advania, Gompute gains a stronger platform for growth with local presence across Northern Europe, a clear focus on data sovereignty aligned with European regulations, scalable and sustainable operations in some of Europe’s most energy-efficient data centers, and opportunities for employees to develop within an entrepreneurial culture.

Advania recognizes the value of our long experience and expertise in HPC. With their market presence, cultural alignment and investments in AI and digitalization, we see significant opportunities to grow while maintaining a sharp focus on our customers’ specific needs,” says Daniel Persson, Chief HPC Officer at Gompute.
