WPP has appointed Peter Agnefjäll as a non-executive director to its board. The appointment was made on 29 April 2026 and takes effect from 11 May 2026.
Peter began his career at IKEA as a trainee in 1995 and held several senior roles before serving as CEO and President of the Ingka Group (Ingka Holding BV) from 2013 to 2017. During his tenure he led the company’s growth agenda, steering its transition to omnichannel retail and introducing new shopping and distribution formats.

Since leaving his executive role, Peter has served on several non-executive boards. He joined the board of Ahold Delhaize (AMS: AD), a multinational retail company, in 2019 and served as its chairman from 2021 to 2025. From 2018 until recently he was a board member of Orkla ASA, an OBX-listed industrial investment company focused on brands and consumer-facing businesses. He held a non-executive role at Wizz Air (LSE: WIZZ) from 2018 to 2021 and served on the advisory board of footwear company Deichmann SE from 2018 to 2023. Peter is a member of the Council on Sustainability Transformation, convened by sustainability consultancy ERM. He holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Linköping University.

- As a non-executive director of WPP plc, Peter Agnefjäll will receive a standard fee of £90,000 per year. He will also receive an additional fee of £20,000 per year for his membership of the Audit Committee.
- The board has determined that Peter is an independent non-executive director in accordance with the UK Corporate Governance Code.
- Peter has no service contract. He has a letter of appointment, which is available for inspection by contacting the company secretary.
- There is no other information to disclose regarding this appointment under Listing Rule 6.4.8R.
