Rolf Werner Appointed Head of Nokia Operations in Europe

Nokia has announced that Rolf Werner will head the company’s operations across Europe.

Werner brings more than 25 years of experience in business and industry. Before joining Nokia, he led Cognizant’s operations for the DACH region (Germany, Austria and Switzerland).

“This is an excellent time to join Nokia. The company is well positioned to capture market opportunities as one of the few providers that can deliver solutions across the full range of technologies in the industry,” Werner said.

Earlier in his career, Werner held senior roles at Fujitsu, GlobalLogic and T-Systems, giving him broad experience across software, services and telecommunications.

Werner will assume the role of Senior Vice President for Nokia’s European business and will report to Chief Customer Experience Officer Ricky Corker.

“I am delighted to welcome Rolf to Nokia. His wide-ranging industry experience will help guide our European organisation through the next phase of growth,” Corker said.

Nokia expects Werner to accelerate growth and increase market share in Europe. His responsibilities will include strengthening partnerships across the region and supporting the company’s expansion into new market segments.

As the industry moves deeper into the 5G era and plans for what comes next, Werner’s leadership will be important to keep Nokia at the forefront in Europe. With nine Nokia Bell Labs research centres located in the region, he will have substantial research and engineering talent available to support innovation and commercialisation efforts.
