Nexer takes another major step forward in engineering with a strategic expansion in Stockholm, Linköping and Västerås. Annica Sunnman, formerly CEO of Nexer India, has been appointed Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Nexer Engineering and will lead the initiative.
Nexer Engineering delivers solutions across embedded systems, software-hardware integration, mechanical engineering, electronics, production and project management. The business area places particular emphasis on delivering dedicated teams that can meet growing demand for sustainable, advanced engineering solutions across Automotive, Defence, MedTech, Manufacturing and Telecom sectors.
Nexer Engineering already operates in Gothenburg, Malmö, Västerås, Linköping and Stockholm, and achieved an impressive 20% growth during 2024. The company now continues its expansion in hardware-near software development, driven by a strong engineering tradition, innovation and strategic recruitment of specialist expertise.
The geographic expansion is carefully chosen to reinforce Nexer’s position in advanced technology development. Linköping, with its deep engineering heritage and proximity to Linköping University, serves as a central hub for innovation and talent. Västerås, known for its strong industrial base, offers opportunities to grow in manufacturing and automation technologies. Meanwhile, Stockholm’s dynamic tech scene and international connections provide a strategic platform for growth and global reach.
“The engineering market is evolving rapidly, with hardware-near software as a key to the future. Our chosen cities have strong traditions of engineering and innovation, and we see great potential in deepening collaboration with academia and industry. To drive this work forward we now welcome Annica as COO — a leader whose experience and drive will play a central role,” says Odd Löfvendahl, Business Area Manager for Nexer Engineering.
As COO, Annica Sunnman will lead the expansion and play a pivotal role in advancing Nexer’s position at the forefront of engineering solutions, sustainable technology and innovation. With extensive experience and a clear strategic vision, she is prepared to drive growth and is enthusiastic about the future:
“We aim to be a long-term partner in product and software-oriented development by offering complete, dedicated teams. With this expansion we can take full responsibility for projects — focusing on strengthening our customers’ structural capital and building new, lasting relationships,” says Annica Sunnman.
The initiative is expected to create many new jobs and contribute to Sweden’s technological progress. Nexer Engineering looks forward to offering opportunities for both recent graduates and experienced engineers to develop and advance their careers.
