Cyber Defencely Aligns with Cybersecurity Law via New AI Security Platform

The startup Cyber Defencely will launch a new AI-driven platform this autumn to help organizations address growing threats and comply with the upcoming Swedish cybersecurity legislation (NIS2). With offices in Linköping, Västervik and Stockholm, the company aims to deliver measurable impact in an environment where threats are becoming increasingly sophisticated.

Combining AI-supported expert teams, streamlined processes and a distinctive delivery model, Cyber Defencely offers a solution that blends technology with human expertise. The company targets SEK 200 million in revenue by 2030 and aims to become a leading player in Swedish cybersecurity.

Stronger legal requirements — NIS2 becomes reality

On January 1, 2026, the new cybersecurity law (NIS2) will come into effect in Sweden. It will apply to thousands of companies and organizations across both the public and private sectors. From banks, healthcare providers and manufacturers to municipalities and government agencies, many organizations will need to meet significantly stricter information security requirements.

“Cyber threats and regulatory demands require a new approach. With expert teams, efficient processes and digital tools, we create operationally driven security that works — pragmatic, measurable and aligned with business objectives,” says Daniel Reinholdsson, CEO of Cyber Defencely.

Using AI to defend against AI-driven attacks

Threat actors are already using AI to scale their attacks — for example, by generating convincing phishing emails, automating intrusion attempts or developing more advanced malware. Cyber Defencely’s strategy is to meet those threats at the same level.

“When attackers use AI, we must defend with the same power. It is the combination of AI and top experts that enables us not only to comply with laws and regulations, but also to build real resilience. That’s why we are launching a new type of offering — we sell capability, not hours,” says Emanuel Lipschütz, chairman of Cyber Defencely.

The new platform will include AI-based risk assessments of organizational information security, automated incident response for faster handling, a data-driven compliance module to meet NIS2 requirements, and measurable security reports tailored for executives and boards.

Beta testing and launch

A beta program is already open via cyberdefencely.com, where companies can test the AI tool ahead of the full launch this autumn. The platform aims to provide a new level of security assessment accessible to both small and large organizations, giving them tools to identify risks before they are exploited.

“Hundreds of companies in Östergötland and Kalmar counties alone will be affected by the new legal requirements. Recent intrusions, such as the incident at Miljödata, show how urgent the need for effective support is,” says Gisela Lejonqvist, cybersecurity consultant and co-owner of Cyber Defencely.

Experience from Sweden’s most demanding environments

The company is backed by several of Sweden’s most experienced cybersecurity professionals: Daniel Reinholdsson, with experience from agencies including the Swedish Customs, Sveriges Radio, FRA and FOI; Emanuel Lipschütz, cybersecurity expert and serial entrepreneur (Netsafe, Conscia); and Gisela Lejonqvist, cybersecurity consultant responsible for communications and marketing. The team’s combined background in private industry, the public sector and national security enables Cyber Defencely to offer a comprehensive approach to cybersecurity.

From hours to capability

A core element of Cyber Defencely’s model is breaking away from the traditional consulting hour. Instead, the company offers capabilities that can be scaled up or down as needed. This gives customers greater flexibility and clearer outcomes.

“Cybersecurity should not be a black hole of hours; it should be a measurable, business-aligned investment. That’s why our offering is built on capacity, accountability and clear deliverables,” Reinholdsson explains.

The next step for Swedish cybersecurity

Cyber Defencely positions itself as one of the most promising entrants on the Swedish market right now. With AI as the driving force, an expert team and a clear focus on regulatory compliance, measurability and rapid implementation, the company aims to become a key partner when the cybersecurity law takes effect. The question for organizations is not whether to act, but how quickly they can adapt — and Cyber Defencely wants to be the partner that enables that transition.
