Wooden Play Food Set for Toddlers — Pretend Kitchen Accessories
Product description
A comprehensive pretend food collection: this set contains a variety of wooden items representing fruits, vegetables, meats and baked goods so children can create balanced make-believe meals. The assortment includes familiar pieces such as avocado, orange, mushroom, carrot, fish, steak, shrimp, crab, sausage, apple, lemon, eggplant, corn, croissant, toast, donut and brezen, plus other bites for realistic role play.
Four cloth storage baskets with Velcro closures are provided to sort and store the pieces by food group. These fabric bins are labeled and designed to help kids practice organization and grouping while keeping the play area tidy.
An interactive cutting experience is built into many of the items: the wooden knife lets children separate pieces and hear a click-clack as the fasteners reconnect. This feature reinforces the concept of food structure, builds fine motor control and introduces cause-and-effect through hands-on play.
Beyond pretend cooking, the set supports early learning goals—hand-eye coordination, finger dexterity, basic counting, color recognition and grouping skills all come into play during guided or free play sessions.
Recommended for children aged 3 and up, the collection makes a thoughtful birthday or holiday gift for boys and girls who enjoy kitchen role play. The wooden pieces are sized for small hands and painted with bright, engaging colors.
Materials: all wooden components are made from FSC-certified wood; the set also includes four cloth baskets (Velcro closures) and a wooden toy knife. Examples of included pieces: knife, steak, fish, shrimp, crab, sausage, apple, orange, avocado, lemon, carrot, eggplant, mushroom, corn, croissant, toast, donut, brezen.

Cute but a bit smaller than expected
Adorable set, though the pieces are smaller than I imagined. They feel solid and well made. One apple had a pale spot but it wasn’t a problem. Baskets hold their groups nicely, knife and Velcro work well. My 17-month-old is learning to use the knife. Not every item separates to be cut.

Nice, sturdy and varied materials
Fantastic wooden material and good variety for teaching preschool vocabulary. Sorting might need clearer visuals for special education students. Slightly larger pieces would help for group activities, but overall very pleased.

Well-made set with clever storage
Adorable, chunky wooden pieces that are beautifully painted. My child loves having picnics with her stuffed animals, and the storage bag opening into a little mat is a clever bonus.

Fun set; baskets could be better
Perfect match for our play kitchen — she especially enjoys 'cutting' the food with the wooden knife. The only downside is the little baskets, which feel flimsy and don’t hold everything neatly. The food pieces themselves are great quality.

Great Montessori-style learning toy
As a toddler caregiver, these have been a game changer. Sturdy construction, no chipping or splinters. The kids stay engaged and the labeled baskets help with sorting and vocabulary. A solid educational toy.

Sturdy, charming gift for toddlers
Bought this as a Christmas gift for my two-year-old niece and she absolutely adores it. Pieces are durable, safe, and sized well for small hands. Bright colors and wood construction are much nicer than cheap plastic, and the variety keeps her imagination active. Looks like it will last.
