Singtel has introduced Paragon, an integrated platform that enables enterprises to leverage its 5G network for next-generation applications.
Paragon supports on-demand 5G network slicing, deployment of mission-critical applications on Singtel’s multi-access edge compute (MEC), and access to a broad ecosystem of partner applications designed for enterprise needs.
Bill Chang, Chief Executive Officer Group Enterprise at Singtel, said:
“Many enterprises are undergoing rapid digitalisation while exploring and developing tailored 5G solutions for deployment in their industries. We understand the challenges and complexities that they face in managing the various networks, edge cloud applications and services with the required cyber security, resiliency, and demanding service assurances required, cost-effectively. Paragon was conceived, developed, and delivered to help enterprises meet these needs through a single platform.”
Potential use cases for Paragon include augmented reality deployments and logistics management systems that require low latency and reliable connectivity.
“We are pleased to already witness exciting and successful trials being conducted on Paragon and invite partners in 5G-related fields—from chipset manufacturers and Internet-of-Things device makers to app and software developers, content producers, systems integrators and solution providers—to join us as we scale this platform regionally and globally with other telecommunications leaders to benefit customers in a 5G world,” Chang added.
Singtel says its 5G network will enable new capabilities thanks to much lower latency and substantially higher bandwidth. When combined with edge computing, which speeds decision-making by processing data where it’s generated, Paragon can support advanced use cases such as autonomous robotics and real-time analytics.
During a media briefing, Singtel executives demonstrated how straightforward it is to deploy a fleet management application powered by the event-streaming platform Solace. The application was provisioned quickly through Paragon’s dashboard.
The Paragon Marketplace hosts a growing catalogue of applications that enterprises can deploy rapidly to address specific operational requirements and accelerate innovation.
