Singtel has launched RE:AI, a cloud service designed to make artificial intelligence technologies broadly accessible to organisations of all sizes.
RE:AI combines AI compute infrastructure—such as graphics processing units (GPUs) and storage—with integrated AI workspaces and development tools, all delivered through Singtel’s orchestration platform Paragon.
Bill Chang, CEO of Singtel’s Digital InfraCo, said many enterprises and public sector organisations want to incorporate AI into their operations, but face barriers such as high GPU costs and long lead times, specialised hosting needs because of intensive energy use, the technical complexity of AI, and a shortage of skilled personnel.
The RE:AI platform addresses these obstacles by offering a turnkey environment for AI development and deployment. Customers can deploy, manage, and scale AI applications without the heavy upfront investment and operational overhead tied to complex infrastructure, enabling faster innovation and improved productivity across industries.
Singtel’s approach to democratising AI focuses on five strategic areas:
- Building an AI research and development cloud platform;
- Facilitating AI adoption in advanced manufacturing;
- Developing an ecosystem to accelerate AI solution deployment;
- Curating tech incubation and acceleration programmes;
- Providing AI skills training to empower the workforce.
To support these priorities, Singtel has signed memoranda of understanding with several partners to expand GPU access, boost AI adoption, and strengthen talent attraction, development, and skills upgrading in Singapore—aligned with the country’s National AI Strategy 2.0 framework.
Key collaborations include:
- Working with the National Supercomputing Centre Singapore and AI Singapore to develop an AI-focused research and development platform for the research community.
- Partnering with the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF), and Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) to promote AI use in advanced manufacturing.
- Building an ecosystem with AI solution providers such as AlphaSense, H2O.AI, Hippocratic.AI, and Hive AI to speed the deployment of AI services.
- Launching an AI Accelerator Programme with Digital Industry Singapore to attract and support AI technology companies.
- Collaborating with AI Singapore, Nanyang Technological University, and the National University of Singapore to create AI training programmes for Singtel employees.
“With the launch of RE:AI, we’re significantly reducing entry barriers and making AI more accessible to enterprises, government agencies, research communities and academia. Broader access to AI drives innovation and fuels growth,” Chang said.
The RE:AI initiative is part of Singtel’s wider strategy to accelerate digital transformation for enterprises, beginning with robust digital infrastructure and scalable AI solutions. This strategy also includes the development of sustainable, highly connected, AI-ready data centres through Singtel’s NXERA data centre division.
