Sigma Technology and Lingon Certificates Partner for Digital Product Passport Initiative

As part of the EU Green Deal, manufacturers will soon be legally required to provide a unique Digital Product Passport (DPP) for every product sold on the European market. The goal is to reduce carbon footprints and close gaps in the circular economy by increasing transparency and giving buyers the information they need to make more sustainable choices.

The scope of DPPs will expand to cover many product categories, but the rollout will be gradual. Construction products and batteries are the first manufacturing sectors targeted by DPP regulation. The EU plans to issue rules addressing textiles and consumer electronics next. In the coming years, furniture, electronic devices and chemicals will be prioritized. Over time, the initiative aims to cover up to 30 different manufacturing sectors.

Sigma Technology Solutions Group is working closely with manufacturers to enable compliance with the new regulations, integrate emerging technologies and maximize business value.
