KitchenAid Classic Manual Can & Bottle Opener — Charcoal Finish
Product description
This product is a manual can opener that also includes an integrated bottle opener for two-in-one convenience. The cutting wheel is made from 420 J2 stainless steel for a sharp, smooth cut, while the body features a chrome-plated ABS bolster and a stainless steel end cap stamped with a “KitchenAid 1919” medallion in homage to the brand’s founding year.
The handles are oversized, soft-coated Matte ABS, sculpted for an ergonomic, non-slip grip to reduce hand fatigue during use. The unit has a large, easy-turning knob to provide added leverage for opening cans with minimal effort. It’s designed to work with a wide variety of can and bottle sizes and is intended as a durable, everyday kitchen tool.
Care is simple: wash by hand in warm, soapy water, rinse thoroughly and dry immediately to preserve the finish and cutting edge. The opener is built to be a functional, long-lasting utensil rather than a disposable item.
Pros
- Sharp 420 J2 stainless cutting wheel
- Comfortable oversized handles and knob
- Built-in bottle opener for added utility
Cons
- Requires hand washing to maintain finish
- May dull with heavy daily use over years
- Not dishwasher-safe
VerdictA straightforward, well-made manual opener that combines a sharp stainless cutting wheel with comfortable, oversized grips and a large turning knob. The built-in bottle opener is a handy extra. Durable materials and classic KitchenAid styling make it a reliable go-to for routine kitchen use, especially for those who need extra leverage or have limited hand strength.

Perfect for lefties and frequent users
Love this opener. Tired of cheap models that fail mid-use. As a left-handed user, I find this one easy to operate. Own several KitchenAid items and this fits right in.

Reliable camper companion — bought a spare
Replaced the old opener at my camper with this one and liked it so much I got another for home. It grips well, turns smoothly and opens cans without much force. The built-in bottle opener is useful on trips. Sturdy feel and solid performance.

Smooth, safe, and easy for weak hands
Very functional and simple to use. Attaches cleanly to cans and avoids leaving sharp edges. I had a previous KitchenAid opener for 15 years, and this one performs just as well. Highly recommended for those with limited grip strength.

Stopped working after a few years
Liked the color and cutting ease at first, but after about three years the gears misaligned and the blade dulled. We used it daily, so it didn’t meet my hopes for longer life.

Back to the classic hand opener — love it
Prefers the old manual style over electric models. Takes up almost no counter space and works reliably. Returned the electric version and kept this one.

Solid quality — plus bonus grater set
I bought a combo with a grater and the can opener. The grater replaces a decades-old model and stores its own measuring cup, which is handy. The can opener is durable and matches the reliable build I expect from this brand.
