Dynatrace has launched Live Debugger, a new tool that makes it possible to debug thousands of services simultaneously in production environments without affecting application performance. The solution is designed to meet the demands of today’s increasingly complex cloud and AI ecosystems.
Live Debugger simplifies how developers identify and resolve issues in real time, without stopping services or changing code. This is a significant step toward reducing the time and cost of troubleshooting while ensuring that mission-critical systems remain reliable.
Early adopters, including telecom operator TELUS, report that the tool has reduced debugging time by up to 95 percent. Live Debugger is tailored for modern companies that use cloud services from providers such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud and RedHat OpenShift.
Summary of Live Debugger:
Direct access to production data – Developers gain fast access to critical application information directly from production environments. No new code, restarts or redeployments are required, which saves both time and resources.
Non-disruptive debugging – Teams can inspect an application’s complete state, including variables, execution traces and error messages, without impacting runtime operations. This makes troubleshooting safe even in business-critical environments.
Support for large-scale search – Live Debugger can handle debugging across thousands of active processes at once. This capability helps detect unexpected issues and frees development teams to focus on innovation and feature development.
“Developers want modern tools that reduce the time they spend on debugging. Traditional methods are slow and difficult to use in production,” says Adam Resnick, analyst at IDC. Dynatrace Live Debugger streamlines the process and makes it easier to address critical application problems.
“Dynatrace Live Debugger opens new possibilities for organizations managing complex cloud and AI environments. By enabling real-time debugging without degrading application performance, developers get the data they need to succeed. This is an important building block for the AI-driven systems of the future,” says Steve Tack, Chief Product Officer at Dynatrace.
Live Debugger is now included in Dynatrace Observability for Developers, a solution that provides developers with deeper insights and greater control over their applications.
