Teracom, a Denmark-based telecommunications operator, has partnered with Loriot, an IoT infrastructure provider, to complete a nationwide LoRaWAN network across Denmark.
The two companies have expanded their collaboration to deliver robust coverage and high-quality service for IoT applications nationwide. Their joint effort aims to support the growing demand for reliable Internet of Things connectivity throughout the country.
Martin Løbel, CEO of Teracom, commented: “Interest in IoT solutions and demand for Internet-of-Things connectivity are increasing rapidly in Denmark. Teracom is fully committed to delivering comprehensive coverage across the whole country, and the roll-out is nearly complete. Loriot’s network server solution enables us to set up and manage a network of this scale efficiently and helps our customers scale their IoT applications.”
Julian Studer, COO of Loriot, added: “Completing the Danish nationwide rollout strengthens our leading position in Europe, and we expect it will further stimulate demand for IoT solutions and their adoption.”
In related developments in Denmark’s telecommunications sector, another Denmark-based operator announced it has chosen Ericsson to deploy commercial 5G services in the country. Under the agreement secured last month, Ericsson will supply its 5G platform for TDC’s 5G cellular network and support a comprehensive upgrade of TDC’s Radio Access Network (RAN) using the Ericsson Radio System. Ericsson will also provide a dual-mode 5G Cloud Core to modernize TDC’s core network. New 5G New Radio hardware and software products from Ericsson were scheduled for rollout later in 2019.
