DreamHack is coming to Stockholm in November 2024. The world’s largest gaming and culture festival will arrive in one of the planet’s leading gaming cities, hosted at the largest exhibition center in the Nordics. “DreamHack Stockholm will be our biggest festival ever,” says Shahin Zarrabi, VP of Festivals EFG.
DreamHack is the world’s largest gaming and culture festival.
In November 2024 the festival, together with festival partner Elgiganten, will come to Stockholm and Stockholmsmässan. As part of ESL FACEIT Group (EFG), DreamHack has already established a global presence. International gaming hubs such as Atlanta, Dallas, Melbourne and Tokyo have all hosted DreamHack’s renowned festivals. Stockholm is one of the world’s leading gaming cities — and DreamHack Stockholm will be this year’s highlight.
Bringing DreamHack to Stockholm is particularly meaningful to me personally. Gaming belongs in Stockholm and we want to support and develop the unique culture that makes the city’s gaming scene so special. From creators and outstanding cosplay artists to the latest games, products and top-tier esports. We are building a platform for everyone, says Shahin Zarrabi, VP of Festivals at ESL FACEIT Group.
Stockholm has become the gaming capital of Scandinavia. The region is regarded as one of Europe’s leading areas for game development, with a presence that spans AAA studios, mobile games and indie developers. Stockholm also has more game developers per capita than any other city. The Swedish gaming phenomenon is internationally recognized and has produced iconic titles such as Minecraft, Battlefield and Candy Crush. The world’s largest gaming and culture festival will take place at Stockholmsmässan in Älvsjö — the largest exhibition venue in the Nordics.

I am very pleased to welcome DreamHack to Stockholm in 2024. DreamHack’s work to bring gamers together from around the world promotes cultural exchange and entrepreneurship. The festival has great significance for Stockholm and reinforces the city’s central role in the global game industry. We have more game developers per capita than anywhere else in the world, and Stockholm is a creative hotspot where esports, technology, music and fashion meet. This is an important step in strengthening Stockholm’s reputation as an inclusive and progressive place for the gaming industry, says Staffan Ingvarsson, CEO of Stockholm Business Region.
We are incredibly excited to host DreamHack at Stockholmsmässan next November. Hosting a festival that sparks young people’s interest in gaming and esports is important, and it’s a fantastic opportunity to welcome not only those already passionate about gaming but also to inspire new participants. As esports and gaming live events continue to grow globally and in Sweden, we are delighted to welcome such a festival to Stockholm and Stockholmsmässan, says Christian Clemens, CEO of Stockholmsmässan.
Our multi-year partnership with DreamHack is one of our most important investments in the gaming community. It’s a partnership we care deeply about. Gaming brings people together, and with the new festival in Stockholm it will be even easier for people to come together and enjoy the exceptional experience DreamHack offers. We look forward to DreamHack Stockholm 2024 and will do our utmost to take the festival to the next level together with the EFG team, says Alexander Åberg, Head of Gaming at Elgiganten.
DreamHack marks its 30th anniversary in 2024. What began as a LAN party and was described in the 1990s by media as “the hackers’ Hultsfred” has grown into a global phenomenon with festivals around the world. It is a gaming and culture festival that offers something for everyone and welcomes people from all backgrounds. DreamHack is proud of its Swedish roots and has held its two largest festivals in Jönköping for 22 years.
DreamHack Summer 2024 will be held in Jönköping from June 14–16. DreamHack Stockholm will take place in Stockholm from November 22–24.
Tickets for DreamHack Stockholm go on sale March 26 next year. More information is available at dreamhack.com/stockholm.
