The Norwegian technology company Intermediary AS has developed what it describes as Norway’s first comprehensive digital infrastructure for EU companies looking to establish operations in Norway. The platform is designed to simplify and automate the entire process of company registration, regulatory compliance and digital onboarding for foreign businesses.
By combining electronic identification, automated checks and integrations with European business registers, Intermediary aims to reduce the administrative complexity that typically accompanies cross-border market entry.
The company has also joined the Made in Norway program, strengthening its position as a provider of Norwegian-developed digital technology for international markets.
Digitizing the establishment process in Norway
For many European businesses, establishing a presence in Norway involves extensive procedures—legal requirements, identity verification and registration with multiple authorities. Intermediary’s platform is built to consolidate these steps into a single, coherent digital flow.
The solution enables formation of both Norwegian limited companies (AS) and Norwegian branches (NUF) through a digital process where verification, document handling and signing are completed electronically.
Through integrations with European company registries and verified identity solutions, large parts of the process can be automated while maintaining the necessary security and compliance standards.
Based on digital identity and automated compliance
The platform uses electronic identities that meet official requirements and pairs these with automated AML and PEP checks, passport verification and qualified electronic signatures (QES).
According to the company, the solution is founded on the principle that once information has been verified it should be reusable throughout the customer journey rather than repeatedly re-entered.

“Our technology is built on a simple principle: data should be shared and reused, not entered again and again. By using verified information across the entire process we reduce administration, lower costs, and create a smoother experience for businesses establishing themselves across borders,” says Morten Ims from Intermediary.
Recognized innovation in digital company formation
Intermediary reports that its solution underwent a patentability review with the Norwegian Industrial Property Office, which the company says confirms the method represents a novel innovation in digital company formation and cross-border onboarding.
The company has also been nominated for Norway’s Digitalisation Award 2026, which recognizes innovative digital solutions across public and private sectors.
Additionally, Intermediary has received the Quality Stamped and Validated Innovations recognition from the European Innovation Council (EIC), further strengthening its position in digital infrastructure and international company establishment.
EU Data Act drives the need for digital processes
A major driver behind the development is the increasing demand for digitalization and data sharing across Europe. Intermediary believes regulations such as the EU Data Act will raise the need for secure, automated and cross-border processes for companies operating in multiple markets.
The company sees particular potential among small and medium-sized enterprises that need to register operations, handle VAT issues or establish a legal presence in Norway.
Denmark currently serves as a pilot market where several companies already use the platform to establish operations through the automated integration solutions.
Made in Norway strengthens international trust
By joining the Made in Norway program, Intermediary wants to emphasize that its technology is developed and operated in Norway and built on Norwegian standards for security, data protection and regulatory compliance.
The company says the label helps build trust among international customers seeking reliable digital solutions for entering the Norwegian market.
“The Made in Norway label strengthens our brand and acts as a seal of quality for international companies. It signals that our platform is built on Norwegian standards for security, transparency and compliance,” says Morten Ims.

Aiming to become Europe’s leading establishment platform
Intermediary’s long-term ambition is to become the leading digital infrastructure for companies establishing operations across national borders within Europe.
By combining automated compliance, digital identity verification and integrated authority processes, the company aims to offer a faster, safer and more cost-effective path for European businesses expanding into new markets.
As additional national integration points become available, Intermediary plans to scale the model to more European countries and markets.
