Apple Launches MacBook Air 2025 with M4 Chip — Faster, More Efficient Than Ever

Apple has officially introduced the MacBook Air 2025, now powered by the new M4 chip. The refreshed 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air models deliver improved performance, longer battery life, and support for multiple external displays. Surprisingly, Apple has also lowered starting prices compared with the previous generation.

New design and color options – Sky Blue debuts

Apple retains the thin, lightweight silhouette that the MacBook Air is known for, while introducing a new color: “Sky Blue”. This light blue shade shifts subtly with changing light and adds a fashionable option to the existing finishes.

Additionally, the Midnight finish (black) now features the same fingerprint-resistant anodization used on the MacBook Pro, reducing visible smudges and making the chassis easier to keep clean.

Improved performance and efficiency with the M4 chip

The new M4 chip in the MacBook Air 2025 delivers a noticeable performance boost. Apple claims the M4 is twice as fast as the original M1. While the gains over M3 may be more modest, the M4 still provides smoother multitasking and stronger performance for demanding apps.

Key features of the M4 MacBook Air:

  • Higher performance: Up to a 10-core CPU and a 10-core GPU for better graphics and faster responsiveness.
  • Support for dual external displays: Unlike the M3 model, which supported only one external display, the M4 can handle two.
  • Improved battery life: Up to 18 hours of battery life thanks to the M4’s energy efficiency.
  • More RAM as standard: All models now come with 16 GB of unified memory to better support Apple Intelligence and AI-driven features.

New 12 MP Center Stage camera and Desk View

Another significant upgrade is the adoption of the same 12‑megapixel Center Stage camera found in the MacBook Pro. The ultrawide lens and the M4 chip’s Neural Engine enable automatic framing that follows the user, making video calls more dynamic and natural. The new Desk View feature also improves how your workspace appears during calls.

Mac Studio receives a powerful upgrade with M3 Ultra

In addition to the new MacBook Air models, Apple has updated the Mac Studio, now available with either M4 Max or the new M3 Ultra chip. The M3 Ultra combines two linked M3 Max processors and represents Apple’s most powerful Apple Silicon chip to date.

Benefits of the new Mac Studio:

  • Thunderbolt 5 connectivity: All six USB-C ports now support Thunderbolt 5 with up to 120 Gbps data transfer speeds.
  • High-performance expansion options: Support for external PCIe expansion cards and high-capacity storage makes this system well suited to professional video and graphics workflows.
  • Linked processors: The M3 Ultra leverages two M3 Max chips to deliver maximum performance for demanding workloads.
